[What no one talks about is the blatant fact that Joe Biden is now America’s Manchurian candidate as his platform has migrated from ‘bipartisan civility’ to hard left socialism. That ol’ Bumblebrain is the ‘safe alternative’ to Trump and will bring the country back on even keel is perhaps the biggest lie that the Dems and their lamestream are foisting on Americans. Joe has made a bait and switch pact with the devil, and is now our proto-communist candidate a la Bernie and AOC, having publicly accepted and promised to implement their respective policy prescriptions. And no one knows or even cares about it, as the Hate Trump campaign outshouts all else. (more here) gjr]
ahhh... fresh litter in the box!
Repeat after me... "Good morning, President Quayle". Do it without cracking a smile. Double-dare ya.
I had the mother of my son ask me at the time why I thought Bush the First was unimpeachable, and I asked she say the above line. We both got a great laugh out of it.
Sometimes, besides being a plausible VP on paper (Quayle was a two term congressman and a two term Senator from Indiana), a VP doesn't have to be a plausible President. I think he was the best VP George HW. could choose that would keep Democrats from impeaching him. He was also a white dude from Indiana, balancing a white guy who was somehow from both Texas and Maine, and the CIA.

Somewhere.....probably in the mountains.....a deep thinker is conflicted.
But that was not what he saw through the windows of his Seattle coffee shop. He saw encampments overtaking the sidewalks. He saw roving bands of masked protesters smashing windows and looting. Young white men wielding guns would harangue customers as well as Mr. Khan, a gay man of Middle Eastern descent who moved here from Texas so he could more comfortably be out. To get into his coffee shop, he sometimes had to seek the permission of self-appointed armed guards to cross a border they had erected.
“They barricaded us all in here,” Mr. Khan said. “And they were sitting in lawn chairs with guns.”
For 23 days in June, about six blocks in the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood were claimed by left-wing demonstrators and declared police-free. Protesters hailed it as liberation — from police oppression, from white supremacy — and a catalyst for a national movement. . . ."
Yeah I remember the good old days when guys sitting in lawn chairs with guns just had to be hated privileged reactionaries.....cruelly blocking all progressives path to a just and radiant future!

I always find it amusing when republicans attack democrats for that which they are guilty.. like an adulterer/conman guilty of fraud, who uses churches for photo-ops and pretends to pray at meetings saying devote churchgoer Joe Biden wants to "hurt God."

The Sally Yates’s testimony coupled with the FBI agent’s notes (the dude investigating Mike Flynn) show clearly that:
a) the Obama Administration is going to throw Jim Comey under the bus as a man gone rouge.
b) the idea of using the Logan Act came from Joe Biden. Notes reveal from meeting “VP-Logan Act.”
c) where did a dufus like Sleepy Creepy Joe come up with the idea of using the Logan Act to thwart a member of an incoming administration???? Life imitates art.
A working theory:
s “Can you imagine if the Obama Administration vis a vis Joe Biden got the idea for the Logan Act – we know Biden said it, it’s in the FBI’s own notes, ‘Hey, we should hit Flynn with the Logan Act’ – Can you imagine if Biden got the idea from a television show? The craziest thing I have ever heard, except that we’re living in the craziest times ever. And things you previously thought were insane and not even worth entertaining, we seriously have to entertain, or else we’ll never get to the truth.”
Somebody really needs to ask Biden how he came up with the Logan Act.
Insane or possible? Readers?“......(Dan Bongino)

A Dem Big Lie exposed, once again.
The Leftinistas have been saying that the rioting, looting, and burning the town down is in response to Trump moving G-Men to protect Federal property, such as the Mark Hatfield fed courthouse in Portland. Never mind Trump waited through 7 weeks of daily attacks on federal buildings before he moved security in to Portland to protect federal property and federal agents from the attacks. To pacify the Leftinistas and the Dem mayor and Gov, Portland agreed to protect Federal Property with its own LE.
Ok, all better now. Trump’s Brownshirts have left the building, no more instigating mob assaults on LE and nightly rampaging, right? Well, not quite. In the first two nights since the Brownshirts stood down, there have been escalated assaults on Federal property management in Portland, Ore. But, but, but..
We were told that once the Feds withdrew, calm and order would resume. Ha! Big lie that I certainly don’t not fall for.

PaulE 1200pm - It is more than common knowledge across the land that Barack Hussein Obama was called and went by Barry in his pre-political circles. At one time he was even known as Barry Soetoro along the nefarious route his identity took in the attempt to clear his foreign-entangled roots. So now you know - better late than never.

From last Sandbox, Posted by: Don Bessee | 06 August 2020 at 06:20 PM:
“Trump Victory data obtained by Axios this week indicated that the campaign’s ground game is continuing to reap positive results. The GOP is reportedly closing the voter registration gap in key swing states such as Pennsylvania, Florida, and North Carolina:
According to the data obtained by Axios, the GOP has “lessened the margin by 133,000 registered voters in Pennsylvania and 87,000 voters in Florida” while gaining “a net 216,410 voters since Election Day 2016” in North Carolina.”
You say tomatoe, I say tomato. You say “closing the gap, lessening the margin.” I say out registering the Dems. In Pennsylvania, for example, the R’s are registering new voters and folks as R at a two to one pace over the Dem registration drive. Two to one. Closing the gap? Yes. Kicking the Dems’ butt on the ground? Yes! Dems closing the enthusiasm gap? Hell no.
Whatever the Dems are doing, I really hope they talk more about peaceful protestors and defunding the police and their whole ball of body wax.

Best time for Biden to gracefully step aside is right after the next mid-terms. Use any nice spin as an excuse, perhaps say his declining health prevents him from faithfully discharging the duties,of the office and feels compelled to selflessly set aside for the good of the country. That way the Dems will have theIr Bernie Sanders-AOC approved VP as POTUS for almost two years before the next general election. Not a bad plan. Didn’t work for Gerald Ford, but who knew a Dem Southern Governor was on the horizon in the form of a peanut farmer. A governor has much more administrative experience than a freshman Jr. Senator from the great state of Illinois. :)
Hey, wasn’t Sarah a Governor of a state? Didn’t she whip the R incumbent’s ass? Didn’t she take on Big Oil against ALL odds and negotiated a deal with Big Oil that benefited every resident of the Great State of Alaska? By Jove, I believe she did.

Yep, lawyering up in DC ain't cheap. Standard rate is $50k/day to appear with the client before a committee hearing. Call her back 7-8 times and make numerous calls to her lawyers. She can always go bust and move in with her in-laws just like retired three star general Michael Flynn did, complete with a gag order attached.

Nah.
We get rid of the organization.
Yeah - that's the best way to make sure the members that donated their money feel like justice is served.
The hilarious part of all of this is that the left thinks this will cause folks that are fighting for our Constitutional rights to just pack up their tents and go home.
This illegal and idiot desperate move by the NYAG will backfire horribly for the left.

I know someone who went through school with Barry Obama in Hawaii. That's what he went by. This friend never mentioned "Barry Soetoro" and according to Reuters Fact Check, it is a false story based on a fake Columbias University Student ID card that had Obama's picture and was identified as Barry Soetoro. It is an old story that has been going around for years. Snopes reported in 2012 that the ID card with the number shown in the image belonged to a student named Thomas Lugert. It's all just more fake news from the right wing noise machine.

Just found this one:
https://idahonews.com/news/local/oregon-state-parks-adds-30-charge-to-non-state-campers
Get this quote: "We love serving all people, no matter where they live,” says Lisa Sumption, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Director. “Even so, this temporary change is needed to remind people to stay as close to home as possible while enjoying the outdoors, and to provide much-needed support for the Oregon state park system, which faces a projected $22 million shortfall between now and June 2021.”
So - they want us to not show up, but if you do - we're broke and we'll hose you for the money we need to show you how much we don't want you to show up.
I think I get it. Because Oregon is so diverse and welcoming, you have to be charged extra for the crime of visiting their state.
Guess where I'm not going?
Because - "this temporary change is needed to remind people to stay as close to home as possible while enjoying the outdoors..."
As close to home as possible?
Do these people even think about what they say?
So - Oregon does welcome us as long as we have more than the usual amount of money.
I feel so welcome.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/08/08/donald-trump-democrats-want-to-use-coronavirus-aid-bill-to-steal-the-election/
"The president said that Democrats had proposed changes in voting laws that would open up voting in 2020 to fraud, including eliminating voter ID and signature verification and enacting universal mail-in voting.
“You [know] what it’s about? Fraud,” Trump said. “They want to try and steal this election, because frankly, it’s the only way they can win the election.”
The president also warned that Democrats wanted to include stimulus payment checks for illegal aliens, the release of inmates, and the release of illegal aliens in custody.
“What does this have to do with stimulus of the economy?” Trump asked in disbelief. “What does this have to do with the coronavirus?” "
Trump just cut you off at the knees.

Good read about the foreign policy disasters of Susan Rice.
You know, a good part of the reason Paul E. did not vote for Barry the second time is because Paul was opposed to Barry’s meddling in foreign wars/conflicts and that droning of a US citizen had to be on his mind. With all the excitement of the Arab Spring happening, why did we get involved with Libya and other hell holes? The party of War, even when leading from behind.
With that out of the way, again a good article and let’s see if Paul Emery will support Susan Rice for Biden’s VP with her record now on notice:
‘Five More Things You Probably Didn’t Know about Susan Rice’. Oh my.

The Daily Mail has the body-cam footage from the the 2 officers who were first on scene at George Floyd's arrest. 8:38 from one cam, 18:31 from the other.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8576371/Police-bodycam-footage-shows-moment-moment-arrest-George-Floyd-time.html.
From Intellectual Takeout - (https://www.intellectualtakeout.org/floyd-bodycam-leak-highlights-press-collusion-with-government-/)
Autopsy found 11 ng/mL of fentanyl in his blood. Points out that one study showed that 9.8 mg/mL was the median level in 143 people who DIED from a fentanyl overdose. So he may have been in the throes of an overdose death.
Note: Why did no U.S. paper think it worthwhile to publish the body-cam video, to provide more background information in the Floyd death? Why do we have to get information from overseas sources?

What? guns in D.C.? Before the day is out, the Proggy Press will be saying the NRA was handing out guns as the people showed up.
https://www.foxnews.com/us/washington-dc-shooting-neighborhood-dead
"A Washington, D.C. police officer is "fighting for her life" after being shot during an early morning incident that left at least one teenager dead and dozens of others sent to the hospital, Police Chief Peter Newsham said at a press conference Sunday.
Police responded to reports of shots fired shortly before 1 a.m. in the 3300 block of Dubois Place in a residential neighborhood in southeast Washington. Newsham said 20 people total were wounded at the scene. At least 11 of the victims were female.
Christopher "Poppy" Brown, 17, was shot and pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, Fox 5 DC reported. An off-duty DC Metro police officer was shot and is "struggling for her life right now," Newsham told reporters at the scene alongside D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser."

One more thing ECO beger, some "vigilantism" just might be called for.
"This resolution has an interesting, balanced subject hidden behind a word that is
loaded with meaning. “Vigilantism” is commonly referred to as “taking the law
into one’s own hands.” When some people imagine a group of vigilantes they
imagine a lynch mob, and the assumption is that the vigilantes are out-of-control
anarchists with no regard for the law. But the wording of the resolution makes it
clear that the circumstance in which we are analyzing vigilantism is one in which
the government has failed to do its job of enforcing the law (assuming that enforcing the law is one of the jobs of the government). If a law is on the books, and for
one reason or another the officials of government do not enforce that law, can people who are not the officials of government enforce that law? With that context in
mind, this may be an interesting and balanced question. We just have to get past
the negative connotations of vigilantism."

Steve. You are continuing a liberal lie. There is nothing “peaceful” about the unlawful riots and looting that we’ve all seen. Free speech does not extend to riots and looting. You know that.
Posted by: Barry Pruett | 09 August 2020 at 10:17 AM
BarryP 1017am - How do you know that Barry? There's nothing in his comments that would let us draw that conclusion. As Walt (957am) points out, SteveF is solidly in the hard-left camp that views rioters as 'protesters' just practicing their free speech rights.

Posted by: Walt | 09 August 2020 at 10:46 AM
Steve said, “Ironically this is exactly what I want the cops to do, arrest the idiots who do something like shoot a BB gun at a peaceful rally...” Peaceful was his word. As far as the extent of the first amendment, Steve is very smart, and I posit toyou that he knows well the limits of free speech and that rioting is not within such bounds.

In the 'corporate capitalism at its finest' category: a private prison/migrant detention center operator, Core Civic, which forces detainees to maintain the facilities for $1.00 a day in pay by threatening them with solitary confinement, the loss of access to basic necessities like personal hygiene products and denial of phone calls to loved ones has filed a lawsuit claiming that if they have to pay the detainees actual wages then the detainees should have to pay Core Civic for their room and board.. money for which Core Civic is already being paid by the US government. Not only are the "detainees" being forced to work but also forced to live there in the first place. The prison/industrial complex at work. Wonderful isn't it?

More bad news for the TDS set -
Biden’s lead over Trump in the Real Clear Politics poll average has dropped almost four points since June 23, when it was 10.2 percent.
Momentum appears to be moving towards Trump recently in the key battleground states as well, as Breitbart News reported earlier this month:
A Restoration PAC poll released Wednesday revealed a positive trend for the president, who appears to be gradually closing the gap on Joe Biden’s sizeable lead in the key Rust Belt states Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
The latest survey, taken July 13 – 27 among 600 likely voters in each state, showed President Trump narrowing the gap in each state compared to June’s results, which had the former vice president up by double-digits in every state.
A new poll released this weekend shows President Donald Trump, the incumbent GOP president, has taken a national and battleground states lead over his Democrat challenger presumptive nominee former Vice President Joe Biden.
The survey, from the Democracy Institute commissioned by the Sunday Express newspaper, shows Trump leading Biden 48 percent to 46 percent. What’s more, Trump has opened up a bigger lead according to this poll in the crucial battleground states, meaning the president by this pollster’s estimates currently is projected to win 309 electoral votes—more than he did in 2016.
With less than three months until election day, President Trump currently sits in a better position to win in 2020 against Joe Biden on August 9, 2020, when he trails by 6.4 points, than he did at a similar point in time in the 2016 presidential contest, August 9, 2016, against Hillary Clinton, when he trailed by 7.6 points in the Real Clear Politics poll average.

Over at crabby's, Stephen Frisch posted earlier today...
"Ironically although the new Idiocracy has adopted some of the tenants of post-modernism, most notably their skepticism of all things “establishment” and an embrace of nihilism with its rejection of knowledge (both tenancies that in the early post-modern era they would have critiqued as Leninism), the Idiocracy has much more in common with Romanticism with its embrace of authoritarian and nationalist tendencies, its worship of things long past, and its rejection of rationalism. "
So, Stephen, who are the "tenants of post-modernism" and who do they pay rent to?
