Daily Quotes

Insight: “The highest reward for man’s toil is not what he gets for it, but what he becomes by it.” —John Ruskin (1819-1900)

Political futures I: “Senator Harris’s purpose on the 2020 ticket is not to convince more black voters to support Democrats but to convince more white voters that they should not support Republicans.” —Kevin Williamson

Political futures II: “[The] UAE-Israel peace deal is shaping up to be a pretty good litmus test of which folks hate Israel so much that they’d prefer greater instability in the Middle East to anything that might benefit the Jewish state.” —American Foreign Policy Council senior vice president Ilan Berman

Observations: “Though temperamentally the president isn’t anything approaching a small-c conservative, his policy aims are well within the centrist tradition. Trump is a largely unideological populist, whose views on trade, spending, the border and foreign policy — and a host of other major issues — are well within the mainstream. By any standard, he is more of a centrist than Kamala Harris. Why isn’t his agenda ever framed that way? Well, because the ‘center’ of American politics will always be wherever the Democratic Party’s nominees happen to stand.” —David Harsanyi

For the record I: “If the left and its enablers want to compare notes, we’ll be happy to do so. A vote for Biden is a vote for anarchy, for the disintegration of law and order, for economic paralysis, for stunning intolerance and for the forfeiture of America as we know it, to the incalculable detriment of Americans, especially the younger generations who may not realize the full import of this would-be voluntary abolition of our liberty.” —David Limbaugh

For the record II: “A Biden-Harris administration would operate in thrall to the Black Lives Matter and antifa radicals currently melting down the streets of America’s leading cities. It would sell out America to its archfoes such as China, Russia and Iran, and it would accelerate the Balkanization and cultural malaise now afflicting every level of our beleaguered social fabric. A vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, in short, is a vote to hasten American decline.” —Josh Hammer

Non compos mentis: “Every single American should be wearing a mask when they are outside for the next three months at a minimum.” —Joe Biden

Braying jackass: “When they come with $2 trillion … we’ll sit down. … Perhaps you mistook them for someone who gave a damn.” —Nancy Pelosi on “negotiating” the next COVID relief package

Alpha jackass: “Bill Barr is fighting hard. For white folks.” —GQ Magazine’s Julia Ioffe

Lack of self-awareness: “I don’t want to scare people, but I want you to be prepared. I have every reason to believe that Trump is not going to go, you know, silently into the night if he loses.” —Hillary Clinton

And last… “President Trump is Western Civilization’s last chance before the arsonists take power and destroy civil society as we know it.” —Charlie Kirk

Here's an interesting view of Kamala Harris from inside her old state office... the words of Gregory McAteer, who interned in her office. in a piece by his dad, Terry.

I'm going to guess McAteer wouldn't have written the piece had he a hint of a clue that her value as a candidate was not dead.

How typical. The Harris-Biden ticket does not care about YOUR rights.

Worth watching a few minutes if one is so inclined.

“....... not someone we want a hearbeat away from Half-term Joe. Lots more to come.”. How true.

‘FLASHBACK: Kamala Harris Laughs Off Biden’s Rejection Of Executive Orders On Gun Control’

“During a Democratic primary debate last fall, Sen. Kamala Harris laughed at former Vice President Joe Biden for saying the Constitution prevents the President from using executive action to implement gun control........

The policy disagreement is just another example of why the Biden/Harris dynamic duo seems only to have shameless opportunism in common. What is the takeaway? Kamala will take your AR-15, and Joe has pledged to protect your AR-14.“

I don't understand why "JoKa" has not been promulgated among the media & Hollywood crowd for the recently selected Democratic ticket. It's been over 24 hours and twitter hasn't picked up on this 'new word'.

It makes for a great play on words in English - was a hit movie just recently even. In the New England states anyway, based on the pronunciation. Even has the same uplifting theme - promoting goodness and harmony, transcending cultural barriers. (As if we had those barriers in the U.S.)

Let's hear it everybody - JoKa! JoKa! JoKa! What could go wrong? Bonus - rhymes with Kumbaya.

New to me news.

"Bank of America has seen a stunning influx of signups on its self-directed trading platform, Merrill Edge.

The surge in signups comes at the same time the country has nearly 30 million people unemployed and the government has printed trillions of new U.S. dollars to "stimulate" the economy, which has all but ground to a total halt due to the pandemic. But that hasn't stopped "legions of young investors" from signing up to trade, according to a new report from Bloomberg."

Oh man. Just imagine how much money from the hoi polloi the machine traders are going to skim off. People actually think they have some special ability. I've seen that claimed often enough for slot machines that I think it's obvious that 'magic' is baked into the cake of the human psyche.

I admit that it's hard to be more silly than to use the word 'Latinx'.

"However, for the population it is meant to describe, only 23% of U.S. adults who self-identify as Hispanic or Latino have heard of the term Latinx, and just 3% say they use it to describe themselves, according to a nationally representative, bilingual survey of U.S. Hispanic adults conducted in December 2019 by Pew Research Center."

To the extent that self-description among Spanish speakers (in the US) isn't simply 'American', it'll always be country of origin. Cuba, Philippines, Mexico, Chile. It isn't like all those nations are clones of each other.

'Latinx' is a word invented by white US liberals, who can't fail to stick their fingers in everyone's business, in yet another attempt to make everything about themselves somehow. Ridiculous.

Oh we don't.....we most certainly don't! It doesn't really matter though since Joe's administration will half the shelf life of a sliced avocado.

What's really important is Kamala Harris ability to F things up. Which I understand is quite impressive!

'Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f*** things up'

Quote from Trump as Cohen gets ready to publish his book

In 2002, Trump heaped praise upon Epstein in an interview with New York Magazine and hinted that he had an interest in younger women.

“Terrific guy,” he told the magazine. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

No, my area is not under evac orders. No smoke either... but I can see the CHP car blocking Jones Bar while standing by my mailbox

Just figuring it out eh! -

There is currently high demand for electricity across the state, as the entire West Coast has been hit by a heat wave and record-breaking temperatures.

One reason the state lacked power, officials admitted, was its over-reliance on “renewables” — i.e. wind and solar power.

There was not enough wind to keep turbines going, Newsom said, and cloud cover and nightfall restricted solar power.

“While we’ve had some peak gust winds,” he explained, “wind gust events across the state have been relatively mild.”

That was good for fighting fires, he said, but bad for the “renewable portfolio” in the state’s energy infrastructure. In addition, high demand for electricity in the evening hours, coupled with less input from solar plants, created strain.

On Friday, Newsom said, the state had fallen about 1,000 megawatts short; on Saturday, it fell 450 megawatts short. Sunday saw only “modest or minor” interruptions. But on Monday, he said, the state would be 4,400 megawatts short of “where we believe we need to be.”

OH SHIT! NOT EVENT THE DEMS LIKE IT! LOL Well of course creepy grampa joe would like it to have that groovy 80's chillin vibe man. -

Members of the mainstream media panned the virtual Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Monday for its similarity to a long infomercial and its boring and out-of-date feel.

Philip Lewis, front page editor for the left-wing Huffington Post, perhaps summarized it best in his tweet: “The DNC so far feels like one long ad on YouTube you’d usually skip.”

Author Matt Stoller mocked the convention for its dated feel: “This convention so far makes me think the Democrats are the party ready to lead America into the ’80s.”

Mark Hemingway, senior writer at RealClearInvestigations, tweeted, “I was just thinking this high energy DNC needed a smooth jazz break.”

Arizona Republic columnist Elvia Diaz called the convention “unwatchable.”

She tweeted, “Holy cow. I’m dying watching #DNC. Message is good but wow, just unwatchable.”

Journalist Michael Tracey appeared to snark about the convention’s politicization of racial injustice.

He tweeted, “Never could have guessed that the ‘reckoning with racial injustice’ just automatically meant ‘elect Democrats.'”

Fish @ 10:59 am.

Just Punchy recycling an old Bobbie C-U-Next-Thurday post, the part about heaping praise on Bubba's hang out party buddy; one Jeffried Epstein.

Maybe it was Punchy that posted the exact same link awhile back, weeks ago with the same 'heaping of praise' 18 years ago. Yep, the same Donald Trump who booted Epstein from Key Largo the millisecond The Dinald found out Bubba Clinton's buddy Epstein was making lewd comments to a Trump employee in the suana/massage area.

Whether it was Punchy or Super Twat Bobbie, I plump forget. Those whiny bitches all sound the same to me. And they have the same rancid stank emitting from their tofu farting pie holes. Probably Pynch. If he posts something and gets ignored, he will repost hoping to be noticed by somebody. If that don't work, its "George, I assume by your silence that you agree with your favorite Donald Trump that Epstein is a terriffic guy", ROFLMAO. Punchy must have been an insufferable high maintance child being such a narsistic attention whore and drama queen. Just like the FAT FUE and almost as.....special.

Ya think the supreme court issue may be a vote driver in nov??? -

Judge Lee’s opinion makes clear that the Second Amendment protects the magazine of semi-automatic firearms, as well as the firearms themselves. Importantly, the opinion holds that such restrictions must be subjected to “strict scrutiny” in the courts—the highest level of scrutiny. Under that standard, a law can only be sustained if the government has a “compelling state interest” and if the law is “narrowly tailored” to advance that interest. That is the same standard that applies to most other rights found in the Bill of Rights.

Judge Lee also destroys the progressive notion that law-abiding citizens don’t need more than ten rounds to defend themselves: “[I]t does not take a wild imagination to conclude that citizens may need LCMs to defend hearth and home. … In [rural] places, the closest law enforcement may be far, far away — and it may take substantial time for the county sheriff to respond. And it is no guarantee that the things that go bump in the night come alone; indeed, burglars often ply their trade in groups recognizing strength in numbers. … And in incidents of mass chaos and unrest, law enforcement simply may be unable to protect the people, leaving them solely responsible for their own safety in a seemingly Hobbesian world.”

If you were unfortunate to be in Day Off Group 63, as of Sunday:
you hadn't had a day off since 06 August;
you worked eleven days in a row;
all at least 12-hour shifts or more
That included an 84-hour work week between 09 and 15 August. No one works an 84-hour work week, let alone 132 hours in eleven days and not suffer from a massive physical (and mental) toll.

"The Trump campaign chairman’s [Paul Manafort] contacts with Kremlin-linked officials posed a “grave counterintelligence threat,” according to the final volume of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, which also found that some of the campaign’s other Russian contacts had closer ties to Moscow’s government and intelligence services than previously reported."

What kind of sheep dip did they have to use to clean up slick willy after last weeks Epstein island revelations?

Did you hear Trump banned Epstein from Mar a Lago for getting creepy with underage workers?? Probably not. -

We talk about the use of character to try and say 'Donald Trump is a man of lower character than Joe Biden' ... he's fair game. That's totally fine," Jennings continued. "So you're gonna say that in one breath and then say, 'Character matters. Ladies and gentlemen, Bill Clinton!'

"I mean, does this make sense to anyone?" Jennings went on. "If you want Republicans to vote for Joe Biden, having Bill Clinton talk about character and not hav[ing] drama in the Oval Office- is that the right answer?"

This is serious stuff. Can anyone show me where in the Constitution it gives the President the right to evaluate election results as a contingency to leaving office if voted out.

"White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany is facing backlash for refusing to say President Donald Trump would accept defeat in November.

McEnany was asked on Wednesday whether Trump would accept the results of the 2020 election if he was defeated by his rival Joe Biden, but she refused to directly answer the question.

“The president has always said he’ll see what happens and make a determination in the aftermath,” the press secretary said.

Former GOP congressman Joe Walsh said the statement was “tantamount to an act of war by a President against his own country.”

George Rebane

Can anyone tell me where in the Constitution it designates whose.acceptance of election results makes the election official, and where it specifically excludes the President from evaluating the correctness of the election and its results?
