And a very Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours from behind enemy line in the formerly great Empire State, where we're under the iron fist of "Emperor Cuomo!" Our gathering will be small only due to the loss of beloved family and friends over these many years.

Morn'n Randy from the Left coast. And a happy Thanksgiving back at ya'.
We know how you feel. We have the VERY pretty Gavin Nuisance with the same "rules for thee, but not for me" attitude.

The turkey laws are almost as bad as the gun laws.. Still no permit, background check or permit required for the holiday bird.

Barry Pruett

Happy thanksgiving to the Rebanes!

The Estonian Fox

Bob Evans (regional restaurant chain) did require ID for me to pick up the turkey & fixin's, which I ordered a week prior. Only 6 to eat together this year, instead of the usual 15 or so.

Maybe this method can be used for voting next year - in March, call in a reservation to vote for (insert your favorite pol here) for the primary, then show ID to 'pick-up' your vote in person in April to officially record it.

Worked for me.

Have a good Thankful Day.

Gather the family,, there is a loophole to be exploited.

"“In Colorado, Thanksgiving is limited to 10 people, but funerals are limited to 30," Boebert told Fox News in a recent interview in Washington, D.C., during congressional orientation. "So I'm going to have a peaceful funeral for a turkey and have about 30 people at my house.""

On the 5-4 Supreme Court decision to strike down Gov. Cuomo's stifling of religion in New York:
The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) condemned the decision and warned it could "undermine New York's efforts to curb the pandemic."

On the other hand, the other ACLU (American Chilled Liberties Union) stated that they were OK with the decision, since they are all-in for limiting the liberty of dictatorial politicians.

Eesti @ 10:01- 5-4 decision by the Supremes? Missed that one, but does the count confirm that Roberts has fully joined the dark side?

In this season of thanksgiving let us give thanks to Chicxulub, the dinosaur killer.

Without that impact we mammals may never have had our chance.

Bill Tozer

Oh, there is so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day. I am truly blessed. What a fantastic day this is. Happy Thanksgiving to all, even those whose bird is a stuffed squash.

And Bumbles still messes it up.. He must have not gone to church much,, let alone read the Good Book.

Caroline and I are in Seattle enjoying a small family gathering with our son and daughter-in-law. We managed a meal out at Sawyers in the Ballard District. Ballard is a depressing sight with so many store fronts and venues boarded up (complete with left wing graffiti sprayed all over). Some store fronts simply empty. Lots of signs out in front of homes and businesses proclaiming an undying allegiance to all that is currently in moral vogue. The funniest (and very popular) statement is: "science is real!". OK.
One store had a sign listing a litany of necessary personal attributes (#6 - tolerance) and then declaring: "if you don't agree, then don't come in". Very tolerant.
None of which is stopping our good cheer and ability to feel very grateful for what we have.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Don Bessee

At least we still can find somethings to be thankful for and getting 2020 in the rearview mirror is one. Enjoy!

Creepy grampa joe is nothing if not consistent, consistently bad -

“And if we do, and I’m sure we can, we can pres— claim the Palmist— what the Palmist who wrote these following words,” he said, uttering the “P” instead of the “S,” “The Lord is my strength and my shield and with my song I give thanks to Him,” the self-described “devout Catholic” said while attempting to quote Psalm 28.

Rejecting as is my norm the Newsom noise, I am nonetheless alone at home. Dinner will be baked chicken and mashed taters. Wife is over the hill at her son's home, with grandkids, for a small gathering, my son is traveling with his bride in AZ at the moment, on way to Zion National Park for a short stay,

I was originally planning to be with my wife but the spiking CoV numbers everywhere (but especially here and in Reno) spooked me. If there were no prospect of a vaccine as far as the eye can see, I'd have gone, but damned if I want to be one of the last to be intubated for the Wuhan SARS just for a dinner with family, traditional though it is.

George Rebane

No guts Greg, we all would have eulogized you with the most opulent and heartfelt of litanies (suitable for framing) - see what you missed? ;-)

Scott 1253pm - First things first, where will you all gather, how many of you will there be, and does that exceed Washington's reward threshold? In any event, Jo Ann and I wish you, Caroline, and the rest of your tribe a very happy Thanksgiving until the gendarmes arrive (you'll be out on bail in no time). ;-)

gr 204pm

Good riddance for bad rubbish would be more like it... in some quarters. ;)

L@ 10:09 AM-
Unfortunately, Roberts seems to be a wire-walker, leaning toward the left, without a 40-pound balance bar to keep him steady. I think that the Supreme Court needs a 7-2 conservative edge to ensure 5-4 decisions.

tef 341pm

don't get greedy... the left deserves Justices, too. And classic centrist liberals...

Don Bessee

And the lamestream poo pooed it to impact the election negatively -

I'm definitely doing the cooking come Christmas. Sister-in-law gave it a try today. 🤔🤢 It's going to be a long night of heartburn..

I'm sure The Proggycrats will demand Christmas be cancelled as well.

Don Bessee

They already have been trying @829

A little historical perspective and the final word on Thanksgiving -

The theme of Crocker’s sermon is the revival of American greatness. It takes as its starting point Philippians 4:6: “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.” In other words, be bold when you speak to God, when you reach out to God for your needs, because you are special to him. You are deserving of his love. Do not meekly accept what the world offers but courageously appeal to God.

For Crocker, this was not just a personal admonition—although it was certainly that. It was also teaching for the United States, which she believed had been bestowed with divine favor. What was needed was a return to faith in divinely ordained American greatness, an embrace of American exceptionalism, and a rejection of those who would say all we can do is manage our decline. We needed to replace our fear and anxiety with thanks, prayer, and confidence that We the People of the United States were deserving of the love of God.

George 12:04 Meeting place is top secret and the number of guests is 'hush hush'. Rainy and typical Seattle but a bit warmer than Idaho for this time of year. Cheers to all, including those on the left supporting an openly racist POTUS-elect.

Bill Tozer

Psychiatrists call this “projection”

Bill Tozer

Walt @ 8:29 pm

“I'm sure The Proggycrats will demand Christmas be cancelled as well.”

Here Walt, let me fix that for you:

“I'm sure The Proggycrats will demand Christmas be erased as well.”

Bill Tozer

Ok, did y’all follow the experts yesterday? Did you listen to science? Did you do it right?

‘Let me say this without hyperbole’

Bill Tozer

“In practice, “the young men, that were most able and fit for labor and service, did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children without any recompense. The strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes than he that was weak and not able to do a quarter the other could; this was thought injustice. The aged and graver men to be ranked and equalized in labors and victuals, clothes etc., with the meaner and younger sort, thought it some indignity and disrespect unto them. And for men’s wives to be commanded to do service for other men, as dressing their meat, washing their clothes, etc., they deemed it a kind of slavery, neither could many husbands well brook it.”

Naturally enough, quarrels ensued. “If it did not cut off those relations that God hath set amongst men,” Bradford notes, “yet it did at least much diminish and take off the mutual respects that should be preserved amongst them. And [it] would have been worse if they had been men of another condition” less given to the fear of God. “Let none object,” he concludes, that “this is men’s corruption, and nothing to the course itself. I answer, seeing all men have this corruption in them, God in His wisdom saw another course fitter for them.”

The moral is perfectly clear. Self-interest cannot be expunged. Where there is private property and its possession and acquisition are protected and treated with respect, self-interest and jealousy can be deployed against laziness and the desire for that which is not one’s own, and there tends to be plenty as a consequence.

But where one takes from those who join talent with industry to provide for those lacking either or both, where the fruits of one man’s labor are appropriated to benefit another who is less productive, self-interest reinforces laziness, jealousy engenders covetousness, and these combine in a bitter stew to produce both conflict and dearth.“

Yo Dems, send you bag of bones wives and shack up girlfriends over to my place to wash my clothes and do the cooking for the little lady. After all, we are all in this together. And don’t forget to scrub behind our toilet bowls.

So the TDS set owes some apologies, right on time as promised -

United Airlines flying Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine
The flights began Friday

George Rebane

DonB, the Left of all lands has never succumbed to apologies; our own are no different. These people don't even remember what they said about the prospects of development and distribution of vaccines; besides, it was all Obama's doing and Trump was just the usurper of credit with his Operation Warp Speed.

Bill Tozer

Dr. Rebane

I not so humbly draw your attention to my 6:05 pm over on ‘In the Wake of the Lying Leftwing Lamestream’

The silver lining is that Kamala Harris, Joy Behar, Joy Reed, and a host of talking heads on CNN, MSLSD, NBC, ABC, and other members of the Enemy of the People vowed not to take Trump’s vaccine. Can’t trust the vaccines or a word Trump the liar says. Silver lining? Because those idiots will not take the vaccine, lol. TDS can be dangerous to your health. Let’s hold them to their promises. If they break their word, can we scream “Liars”? Or is that too unbecoming for the sunny side of the street?

Don Bessee

Dr. R@ 607 -

Given 0's outrageous election review recently calling out white boys posturing as victims that led to the 72 mill votes is ignoring the working class minority surge for Trump as well as the black parents who know illegals take their kids jobs and that the liberal globalist white masters of the universe love it.

Dismissing the proud of their faiths Hispanics as caring more about abortion than kids in cages ( that he built ) and pretending his pandering to the southern socialists as a fan boy for the castros never happened is a clear closed loop self talk symptom. THANKS!

This is the dem socialist catechism of YOU DIDNT BUILD THIS.

Bill Tozer

So, it looks like the New Trumpism Republican Party is the party of the working class and the New Democrat Party is the party of the rich who want us po folk to pay off their student loans...without the benefit of a higher income that comes with a college education. I can see why the libs once hated the well to do with a passion.
