A little wordy isn't it....just calling Fauci a weasel should have been sufficient.

"Fauci could’ve started out in March 2020 by saying, “Please don’t wear masks because health care workers need them right now,” and that would’ve been justified. But he didn’t. He lied, and he’s still lying. That’s not our fault, it’s his.

If Anthony Fauci was ever a scientist, those days are long gone. He’s a bureaucrat, and the #1 priority of any bureaucrat is always to cover his own ass. He can get as indignant as he wants, but his many, many public statements over the last 15 months prove him to be a liar.

If you lie to me, admit you lied but tell me it was for the greater good, and then accuse me of hating science itself for remembering that you admitted you lied, don’t expect me to ever trust you again."

Administrivia - I draw your kind attention to the 21jun21 update to 'The Evil Party ...'

gun fantasy...

I don't have no ugly black guns. Thirty years ago, when they were still legal in Kali as desired as long as it was semi and not fully automatic, I didn't want one, but now with a prospect of the ban being lifted (thank you, Judge Benitez)... there may be a window opening.

am thinking an AR-10 (308 Win) as a half decent hunting caliber, 20" barrel, 2 stage trigger.

While if hunting normal game the magazines must be small, if I go for a safari to hunt the evil Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog, I'd need a few 40 holy modal rounders as the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch will remain NFA unobtanium.

Just wondering what the gun nuts here think. DPMS not AR, probably.

Any local shops good to talk to get the project ready? Do in pieces or just buy something off the shelf? Get it from an ou of state shop not inundated from Kali folks scrambling to scratch the itch? Or forget about it for a couple of years as guns and ammo are in short supply even now?

Now is I80 through Berkeley and Oakland on that "to do" list?

This A-hole is beginning to think he's above question.

Gregory. The AR10 is a fine weapon. It's a bit heavier, so shop
around. The one I have, I'm advised not to use anything over 170-175 grain bullets.(I use 168 grain) Again.. Ask about that when you go "shopping".(depending on what game your filing the freezer with)
I have no problem with mine @ 300 yards.

Don Bessee

We have a fire just south of Alta Sierra -

Huh, I had to look up 'DPMS', not qualified for nuthood I guess. I've just been around furrin' 7.62 rifles and would probably buy a Springfield M1A if forced even though it's kind of a beast. Sort of an aesthetic decision.

I wonder if those Barrett REC10s are decent? Jeesh, there's so much of this stuff anymore. Steve F. would be more outraged with space-age looking semiautomaticmilitarystyleassaultrifles, so that's worth keeping in mind.

I'd vote build one from pieces even though it probably costs more. Might as well geek out on the hobby a bit. Use pink parts and a Hello Kitty sticker.

Don Bessee

scenes 344pm

Barbie for boys... no to pink, maybe a hello kitty sticker ;)
Hmmm... maybe a Chairman Miao sticker! Pet the Kitti!

The M1A is a nice looker that I'd listed after in the past but I've already got a Mini-14 in .223/5.56NATO and an M1 rifle in .30-06. Got the Garand itch well scratched.

Don't see me filling any freezers , mostly just killing paper targets with an ugly rifle that *could* be good for hunting as it is for pissing off Frisch.

Gregory 2:42 - I'd look at the 6.5 Creedmore on the AR15 platform. Lots of info out there - here's just one example.
A lot depends on how big a rabbit you intend to go after and many, many, other considerations. It can bog down into a 'Ford vs Chevy' clown show but there is a lot of good info on the net.

This should help..(if not thoroughly confuse you)

Basically,, parts ain't interchangeable.

Scenes.. Not a thing wrong with an M1 either.

All show and no go -

We already know the act, a grab bag of voting rights provisions, will fail. It won't get the 60 votes needed to overcome a Republican filibuster, and — since it lacks the support of Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) — it won't even get the 50 votes to achieve a bare majority. The bill is dead on arrival, and all the activity surrounding its arrival on the Senate floor is just so much showmanship.

But there is a danger that voters will see futile gestures as empty gestures. If Democrats are loudly lamenting that the end of democracy is near, but the best they can do is a useless messaging vote, it might not be unreasonable for Americans to assume that maybe the danger is not so imminent.

Thanks to opposition from Republicans led by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Democrats might not be able to pass a positive voting rights bill in any form. That's terrible. But it's not at all clear that wasting time on this doomed bill is a better option.

"Invented partisan history."

Now, a fun experiment would be to have Mr. Crabb write down a timeline of the events that happened that day. Betcha he has no clue. Hell, I just had to look it up, US history not being my thing.

The main conclusion you can come to is just how crazy things can get when everyone is riled up. The US is perfectly capable of becoming a metastasized Yugoslavia. No blame need accrue, it's just the dynamics of the thing.
