[There are a couple of House bills that will break up Amazon and other big tech companies. “One of the proposed measures, titled the Ending Platform Monopolies Act, seeks to require structural separation of Amazon and other big technology companies to break up their businesses. It would make it unlawful for a covered online platform to own a business that “utilizes the covered platform for the sale or provision of products or services” or that sells services as a condition for access to the platform. The platform company also couldn’t own businesses that create conflicts of interest, such as by creating the ‘incentive and ability’ for the platform to advantage its own products over competitors.” This would change the face of online businesses; thoughts? gjr]

The driver and the victims were reportedly part of the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men's Chorus family
Police said the driver was a 77-year-old male who had ailments preventing him from walking the duration of the parade and he was selected to drive as the lead vehicle. As the parade was about to begin, a 2011 white Dodge Ram unexpectedly accelerated into the crowd.

A little wordy isn't it....just calling Fauci a weasel should have been sufficient.
If Anthony Fauci was ever a scientist, those days are long gone. He’s a bureaucrat, and the #1 priority of any bureaucrat is always to cover his own ass. He can get as indignant as he wants, but his many, many public statements over the last 15 months prove him to be a liar.
If you lie to me, admit you lied but tell me it was for the greater good, and then accuse me of hating science itself for remembering that you admitted you lied, don’t expect me to ever trust you again."

gun fantasy...
I don't have no ugly black guns. Thirty years ago, when they were still legal in Kali as desired as long as it was semi and not fully automatic, I didn't want one, but now with a prospect of the ban being lifted (thank you, Judge Benitez)... there may be a window opening.
am thinking an AR-10 (308 Win) as a half decent hunting caliber, 20" barrel, 2 stage trigger.
While if hunting normal game the magazines must be small, if I go for a safari to hunt the evil Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog, I'd need a few 40 holy modal rounders as the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch will remain NFA unobtanium.
Just wondering what the gun nuts here think. DPMS not AR, probably.
Any local shops good to talk to get the project ready? Do in pieces or just buy something off the shelf? Get it from an ou of state shop not inundated from Kali folks scrambling to scratch the itch? Or forget about it for a couple of years as guns and ammo are in short supply even now?

Gregory. The AR10 is a fine weapon. It's a bit heavier, so shop
around. The one I have, I'm advised not to use anything over 170-175 grain bullets.(I use 168 grain) Again.. Ask about that when you go "shopping".(depending on what game your filing the freezer with)

Huh, I had to look up 'DPMS', not qualified for nuthood I guess. I've just been around furrin' 7.62 rifles and would probably buy a Springfield M1A if forced even though it's kind of a beast. Sort of an aesthetic decision.
I wonder if those Barrett REC10s are decent? Jeesh, there's so much of this stuff anymore. Steve F. would be more outraged with space-age looking semiautomaticmilitarystyleassaultrifles, so that's worth keeping in mind.
I'd vote build one from pieces even though it probably costs more. Might as well geek out on the hobby a bit. Use pink parts and a Hello Kitty sticker.

All show and no go -
We already know the act, a grab bag of voting rights provisions, will fail. It won't get the 60 votes needed to overcome a Republican filibuster, and — since it lacks the support of Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) — it won't even get the 50 votes to achieve a bare majority. The bill is dead on arrival, and all the activity surrounding its arrival on the Senate floor is just so much showmanship.
But there is a danger that voters will see futile gestures as empty gestures. If Democrats are loudly lamenting that the end of democracy is near, but the best they can do is a useless messaging vote, it might not be unreasonable for Americans to assume that maybe the danger is not so imminent.
Thanks to opposition from Republicans led by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Democrats might not be able to pass a positive voting rights bill in any form. That's terrible. But it's not at all clear that wasting time on this doomed bill is a better option.
