[Looking at the increasing number of stores with empty shelves and long lines of customers waiting to buy what’s left, we are told by Biden’s lackies that all this signifies another administration success as a sign of a booming economy where the people are exhibiting their ample ‘buying power’ that outpaces the nation’s ability to manufacture enough goods. The same arguments were made in the USSR when newsreels showed Russians standing in long lines waiting to get into stores with empty shelves. gjr]

I still vividly recall when I first met Ahnna Haynes... in a Broad St. Cafe. I was having a lovely chat with a friend (a defrocked commercial pilot who used his forced time on the ground as a bon vivant favoring bourbon) laughing over the Climategate email revelations, only to have this stranger interrupt our festive recounting to offer remedial instruction in climate science if we wanted to wade out of the primordial pool we were splashing in.
I asked her the basis of her knowledge and she said "I have a PhD, from Harvard ". I had to ask what subject, she said biology.
She had a real deer in the headlights look when I gave my bs physics/ms ee bona fides and began sharing my interpretations of climate realities... she ran off soon after.

More election irregularities -
Now, Berlin’s state Constitutional Court will need to decide if elections will need to be redone in two districts of the city, the western Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district and the eastern Marzahn-Hellersdorf district.
Berliners were forced to wait for hours at polling stations that ran out of ballot papers, with the Berlin marathon causing delays in bringing more ballots. Many voters reported receiving the wrong type of ballots, and it is claimed that loopholes allowed minors to vote, according to state broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
Lolita Cigane, the head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation (OSCE) in Europe’s election-monitoring team, said that approximately ten per cent of polling centres in the city experienced voting irregularities, or 207 out of 2,257 stations.
Berlin Election Commissioner Petra Michaelis, who resigned last month following the polling day chaos, said that violations of election regulations could have impacted the results of the state election.

In the category of "how stupid are Texans anyway". In response to the new Texas law aimed at "presenting both sides to the story" (like 'good people from both sides were at the Charleston white supremacy march or CRT tries to rewrite white history) school administrators in South Lake, Texas told teachers that they had to present both sides to the Holocaust. Why question is: What is the other side to the holocaust? Is it 'it never happened'..'the Jews and gypsies deserved it because they were not Aryians. How fuc*ing stupid of a position is that? sort of like the election was stolen.

Don 3:48 - re the letter:
"Four out of the eight members of the U.S Commission on Civil Rights have penned a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland..."
So half of the US Commission on Civil Rights think it's okie dokie for the feds to go after parents voicing complaints at the local school board???!!!!
Yeah - especially that really whacked-out guy complaining about something as trivial as the school trying to cover up the fact that his daughter had been raped on campus by some nut job in a dress.
Who are these 4 that didn't mind a complete over-reach by the feds?
And the letter is just way too mild. They shouldn't ASK anything of Garland. They should send him a copy of the Constitution, a reminder of what the FBI is supposed to do and a some notes of the FBIs inaction after folks were bused in from other states to riot and loot and burn businesses.
The Dems are on their knees begging for violence.

If anyone is trying to figure out how F'd up we are as a nation, I offer these 2 items as evidence.
First:
"After their 16-year-old daughter died in a car crash, David and Wendy Mills wondered whether she would be alive if federal rules on rear seat belt warnings had been issued on time.
The teenager was riding in the back seat of a car to a Halloween party in 2017 just a mile from her house in Spring, Texas, when she unfastened her seat belt to slide next to her friend and take a selfie. Moments later, the driver veered off the road and the car flipped, ejecting her. Kailee died instantly."
So she voluntarily undid her seat belt for a selfie.
If only the fed govt would make us be good all the time! When will this happen?
https://apnews.com/article/auto-safety-rules-overdue-nhtsa-biden-only-on-ap-7acc35657ff857c925cd9bce937e6fe9
And:
A woman was raped by a stranger on a commuter train in suburban Philadelphia in the presence of other riders who a police official said “should have done something.”
Well - isn't that the job of the FBI? I mean don't the feds take care of every little thing in our lives?
Of course an armed citizen - male or female - could have ended the trouble pronto. But no.

Will Minneapolis be the tipping point that sinks the socialist dems nationwide? -
This much is clear: Although they are extremely vocal, Democrats who support the “defund the police” movement hold views that are frankly frightening to the majority of Americans across the ideological spectrum. If a progressive stronghold like Minneapolis effectively votes to dismantle its police department, it will send shockwaves across the political ecosystem and deliver Republicans a powerful talking point.
Minneapolis will be seen as a city of lawlessness, and Democrats will be blamed. This is a narrative arc that will feed perfectly into the Republicans’ framing that Democrats just aren’t that good at governing anyway.
Need more proof? Republicans will just point to Congress. Despite controlling both the executive and legislative branches of government, Democrats’ internecine dysfunction has already stalled President Joe Biden’s domestic agenda. Coupled with the Biden Administration’s disastrous handling of the military withdrawal from Afghanistan on the foreign policy front, we can see an entire party already bracing for severe voter backlash in 2022.
It’s going to be tough enough already for Democrats in 2022. And “Question 2” on the Minneapolis ballot could make things a whole lot worse.

Bow-and-Arrow Rampage in Norway Treated as Apparent Terrorist Attack
A 37-year-old man was charged on Thursday in connection with a bow-and-arrow rampage in a small town in Norway that killed five people and wounded three others, in what the authorities said was an apparent act of terrorism.
The police identified the suspect in the grisly assault in the town of Kongsberg, about 50 miles southwest of Oslo, as Espen Andersen Brathen. . .
Officials said Thursday that the assailant was a Danish citizen who lived in the town and who had converted to Islam, but did not say when that happened, why his conversion had raised concerns or what action the authorities had taken.
“We have previously been in contact with him regarding worries about radicalization,” Ole Bredrup Saeverud, the regional police chief, said at a news conference before the suspect was named. Asked whether the assailant might have been motivated by extreme religious ideology, he added, “We don’t know that, but it’s natural to ask the question.”
“Natural to ask the question.” You don’t say.

Seattle, Frisco, LA.....pick a major city in the USA run by Dems for 50 years and I will show you trash and homeless and fires caused by homeless trash.
‘Squalor By the Seaside’
Homelessness and RV fires have overrun Venice Beach, California.
“Unlike neighboring Santa Monica, Los Angeles has no urban-runoff recycling program, so everything that lands in our streets—feces, needles, trash, and debris—ends up in our storm drains and is pumped into the Pacific Ocean. The notorious Rose Avenue storm drain, located a block from an encampment, empties directly onto our sand. Locals avoid the spot, but the city does little to warn the public about it.
Bonin, L.A.’s most progressive city council member and self-proclaimed social and environmental justice warrior, tells us that climate change is an existential threat, but you wouldn’t know it from his inattention to local trouble spots. The nearby Ballona Wetlands, an ecological gem and state-protected park, has become a locus for shootings and other crime and is now home to a makeshift RV camp, with more than 45 RVs illegally parked there. A recent brush fire at the wetlands required nearly two hours and 54 firefighters to extinguish, destroying more than five acres. It’s doubtful that any fires in Bonin’s district can be attributed to climate change.
Fires, pollution, and disarray are increasingly common not only in Venice but also around Los Angeles. The city’s 15 councilmembers act as demi-mayors, directing policy and policing in their districts. Mayor Eric Garcetti has seemed missing in action in the two years since his failed presidential attempt, leaving a vacuum to be filled by anarchy and lawlessness.
Garcetti’s legacy of inaction and incompetence has led to blighted living conditions in Los Angeles that are starting to rival those of the Third World. It’s somehow fitting that the city’s failed mayor aspires to be named ambassador of India: he has created conditions in Venice Beach that evoke some of the suffering in that country, along with a modern-day caste of homeless untouchables, exempt from laws and accountability.“

"'Trained Marxist’ BLM Co-Founder Appointed As A Los Angeles County Commissioner'"
Well, you could see that coming. That's the beauty of public jobs, there's so much largesse to be handed out. Nothing new except for the modern scale of the thing.
The fact that a Marxist founder of BLM is a member of the ruling class should be no surprise to anyone. With the new centralization of power in this country, given surveillance and the growth of monopolies, I don't see turnover anytime soon.
I think that our local Team Blue being on the same 'side' as the 17 intelligence agencies and the internet monopolies is a beautiful thing, but I honestly doubt they see the irony.
Gotta keep an eye on just how much Patrisse Cullors makes at her gig, some of them do pretty well.

The main thing is that those boards and commissions give people untold opportunities to pass on yet more public money to the 'proper' people who need paying off.

"Fully Vaccinated Former SecState Colin Powell Dies From COVID Complications"
C'est la mort. It's really just a statistics game after all, which is the real heart of epidemiology.
Obviously the preventative shots don't provide 100% immunity at 0% risk. Masks don't provide 100% safety. Some masks are a helluva lot better than others if worn correctly. etc. etc.
Of course, the amazing part about the whole situation is that (a) the government lies or is silent about what works, where it came from, where people got it, etc. and (b) the main stream media is in complete cahoots with the government. Mr. Fish Niglio @7:48AM
That led me to this
https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2021/06/04/california-math-class-detrack-race-equity/
"Advocates for the new California math guidelines say “de-tracking,” or mixing together students of varying academic performance, can help all students, particularly those who would have languished in lower-level classes. It can also unravel racial segregation inside schools. Almost everywhere, White and Asian American students are more likely to be placed in higher tracks, with Black and Latino students more likely to be placed in lower tracks."
What possible good does it do for high functioning students to be condemned to a class with poorly behaved or unintelligent people? I don't care whether the whole class looks alike or not.
Anyone with a shred of sense is looking outside of public schools for K-12 at this point in time.

SCOTUS says qualified immunity is not going anywhere on the federal level in a surprising unanimous decision. -
The Supreme Court dealt a blow to police reform in two unanimous decisions on Monday shielding officers from lawsuits accusing them of illegal brutality. Both rulings endorse a nearly insurmountable version of qualified immunity, the doctrine that protects police and other state officials from suit, raising the bar even higher for victims of unconstitutional conduct. The rulings are a major setback for the campaign to rein in qualified immunity

"The U.S. supply chain crisis has affected Americans of all stripes, despite White House chief of staff Ron Klain endorsing the message that it and inflation are "high class problems." Yet, Buttigieg told CNN on Sunday that the reason the supply chain is dealing with backlogs is because demand and income are up under Biden.
"Demand is up," Buttigieg said, "because income is up, because the president has successfully guided this economy out of the teeth of a terrifying recession.""

Maricopa County’s Board of Supervisors has filed a notice of claim against the Arizona Senate in pursuit of a $2,833,220.00 settlement from the Senate to cover the cost of replacement voting machines.
In May, Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs claimed that the voting machines were tampered with and no longer safe to use and urged the County to buy new ones.
This made it clear that these machines were never safe to use in the first place.
Senate President Karen Fann responded to these claims, telling them that if they cannot run the same L&A tests, then the machines were never valid.
If the machines cannot undergo a full forensic audit, then they should have never been used in the first place.
The County Supervisors then threw another $3 MILLION of tax dollars away on new fraudulent voting machines.
They know that the machines were not tampered with during this fully transparent, 24/7 live-streamed full forensic audit but they are doing everything possible to discredit the process.

The amount of electricity produced by coal plants is expected to tick up 22% in 2021, reversing coal’s six-year downward trend, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). The increase in coal-fired power is due to increased prices of natural gas, which overtook coal as the largest producer of electricity in the U.S. in 2016."

The ponytail of ignorance likely ignored this -
Democrats have virtually no room for error in 2022. Republicans need to flip only five seats in the House to recapture control of the lower chamber, and they stand to benefit right off the bat from redistricting in key states and the historical maxim that the party of a new president tends to lose ground in midterm elections.
Biden’s job approval ratings have continued to crash — most recently to an all-time low of 36.4 percent — as he faces backlash over his botched Afghanistan withdrawal, rising crime, an immigration crisis, and now a supply chain crisis and rampant inflation.
Additionally, 47 percent of registered voters said they would rather see the Republican Party win control of the House, while only 44 percent of the registered voters said they would want the Democrats, according to an October Quinnipiac University poll.

The mean no interest from our loyal lapdogs -
The controversy spurred America First Legal to submit an expedited request seeking information from the DOJ, hoping to uncover the department's motivation for the effort and if it had coordinated with potential political allies of the administration, such as the National School Boards Association.
But that request was denied by the DOJ and other divisions within the department, including the criminal division, Executive Office for United States Attorneys and the Office of Legal Counsel. Among the reasons cited for denying the expedited request, the DOJ argued that the issue is "not a matter of widespread media interest."
Lawyers for American First Legal told Fox News that the decision to deny the request was concerning, raising fears that the decision had political motivations.
The lawyers raised a number of concerns about the Oct 4. memo, arguing that the DOJ failed to define exactly what constituted "harassment or intimidation." They also pointed to the DOJ's lack of citations to support the claim that there has been a rise in crime and harassment against school officials, an omission they said was "unusual" and should be common for the department when issuing such a memo.

Don @ 6:38 pm. If nothing else, Quinnipiac University Polls seems to shade to the lefty side.
Polls are getting boring. They seem to be all going in the same direction for the D’s and seems to be going in the opposite direction for the R’s. 46% for recall in Nevada County ain’t bad.
Read a poll the other day that had Biden at 50%-50%, thumbs up and thumbs down. However, the issue polling as you mentioned above (his botched Afghanistan withdrawal, rising crime, an immigration crisis) was brutal for the Dems where the policies matters most and which ones matter most to folks.
Then moi saw the poll was from August, lol. With Afghanistan drifting from people’s minds and “now a supply chain crisis and rampant inflation” comes on in with a vengeance. Buy toiletries now and beat the rush to half empty shelves. Publishers can’t even get books out that are ready to print by Thanksgiving, Christmas because labor. Use baking soda for tooth paste, laundry, and deodorant when the time comes. :).
I just can’t see Biden fixing inflation,, rising crime, high energy prices from the home to the pump, or the immigration crisis in the near term or within a couple of years. Sure, the Dems idea of an immigration crisis is some illegals have been turned away. The supply chain bottleneck may last in 2023 once you delve into the chain reactions. Like sitting in traffic for 20-30 minutes because there is some fender bender on a off-ramp miles ahead. Backs up quick and slows way down.
Getting out 80,000 more containers at San Pedro or Long Beach ain’t going to cut it. There are hundreds of thousands of containers off shore and the cargo ships need to wait for the containers to be brought back cause they ain’t going back to the Orient empty. Trucking industry needs 100,000 drivers now.....for months.
Anyway...

Looks like foot in the mouth mcauliffe is hearing the footsteps closing in on him -
During the interview with McAuliffe, Minock began by pressing him on his controversial remarks at last month's gubernatorial debate where he said "I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach."
"So are you saying parents shouldn't have a voice in their kids' education?" Minock asked.
"Sure, parents should have a voice. And parents do have a voice," McAuliffe responded, before pointing to his record as governor of eliminating standards of learning exams parents had complained about, listing campaign promises on improving education in Virginia and attempting to tie Youngkin to former President Trump and former Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
"So, did you misspeak during that debate?" Minock followed.
No!" McAuliffe quickly responded. I was talking about what we need to do, bringing people together. We have the state boards, we have the Board of Education and we have the local school boards who are all involved in this process. But the issue is how do we deliver a world class education."
Minock asked McAuliffe that if his administration would "issue mandates" telling schools what and how they should teach, to which McAuliffe punted to the State Board to decide before attacking Youngkin for using a "racist dog whistle" responding to the Republican's call to ban critical race theory.
"He's talking about issues that don't even exist in Virginia and we've got to move past that," McAuliffe said.
Minock then inquired whether McAuliffe agreed with the memo from the Biden DOJ suggesting future involvement in cases between parents and school boards. McAuliffe dismissed concerns, saying the DOJ will "make their own decisions."
The reporter moved on to grill McAuliffe's record on crime and how much he would invest in public safety. Shortly after, McAuliffe staffer can be heard interrupting off-screen attempting to wrap up the interview.
Minock went on to ask the Democrat about his support for vaccine mandates for state employees as well as for children in schools.
"Alright, Nick. We are already over time," the McAuliffe aide told the reporter.
"Alright, we are over. That’s it. That’s it," McAuliffe said as he stood up from the chair and began walking off-camera. "Hey, I gave you extra time. C’mon man."
"You should have asked better questions early on. You should have asked questions your viewers care about," McAuliffe added.
"Well, we did," Minock responded.

Hilarious: "Who decides which areas should be open for offshore wind, and how do they choose?"
To start with - no where near Martha's Vinyard. At least not in sight.
And no where near Obama's Hawaiian home.
Probably not around Newport or anywhere where the wealthy live. Same rules as we have for low income housing. You start where the rule makers live and then take a hike. A long one.
What will this cost? Just to ask shows that you're a hater. And we don't take questions from haters.
"The National Renewable Energy Laboratory estimates that U.S. offshore wind resources could provide over 2,000 gigawatts of generating capacity – nearly twice as much electricity as the nation uses every year."
Oh, yes they 'could'. As long as they keep blowing unless they don't and then you end up like the situation in GB. Must be fun to count on fantasies as reality! Why don't we tie the well being of these worthies at the Renewable Energy Lab to actual outcomes?
As in - you are wrong, so you are dead broke for the rest of your life. In ancient Athens your incompetence would result in you becoming some one else's slave. I think this would work for our energy policy. You want to be in charge of making energy policy? Great. If you're wrong and the lights go out, you are sold into slavery. It would be just amazing at the sudden change of heart from those down at the olde energy lab.
https://news.yahoo.com/biden-calls-big-expansion-offshore-122314249.html
If that sounds harsh then we'll put it this way - When you or some one you love is on life support run on electricity, it has to be renewable and never run on 'backup' carbon based energy. Deal?

"Newsom’s order directs state agencies to “identify additional ways to alleviate congestion at California ports”; to “continue coordinating with the Biden-Harris Administration Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force”; and to consider long-term plans for better storage, transportation, and skills training. It also directs state agencies to “identify priority freight routes to be considered for a temporary exemption to current gross vehicle limits to allow for trucks to carry additional goods.”"
Ah - they'll "consider" long-term plans...
I can hardly think of a weaker response to a current and growing problem than that. But I'm sure the swells in Sacta-tomatoes are working on it.
And
“...identify priority freight routes to be considered for a temporary exemption to current gross vehicle limits to allow for trucks to carry additional goods.”
Hilarious - maybe if trucks could wander around Rodeo Drive we could get past this.
I'm so glad they are going to co-ordinate with Biden and Harris. Maybe they can 'do lunch'.
