George Rebane
What do Dems actually do when they have all the power? The short answer is that they have created the worst states in the Union with regard to housing, education, taxation, homelessness, … . And first and foremost, they turn on their political and media lying machines to deny what horrible messes in governance they create when voters unwittingly hand them all the levers of power in a state. This has gotten so bad that even the NYT now runs op-eds decrying the Democrats’ hypocracies, illustrating in chapter and verse the 180 differences between the nation’s progressive talk and walk.
Today Democrats control the legislative and the executive branches, or else have veto-proof majorities in the legislatures of 18 states – Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Illinois, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Hawaii. And these are the worst governed states in which progressives promote and maintain the greatest inequalities between their rich and their poor. In these states there is no possibility for any Republicans to stand in the way of Democrat public policies – the Left owns these states lock, stock, and barrel.
Noted author and NYT editorial board writer Binya Appelbaum has zeroed in on these states to discover the nature and magnitude of leftwing travesties in operation. He teams up with video journalist Johnny Harris to report on the details in this NYT Opinion video. Here they present the data that forms the basis for the fabric of Big Lies on which our Left has based its access to power by buying the votes of the less-read, and keeping them on urban plantations for decades during which millions of American lives have been destroyed and/or stunted.
To me the information presented here is yet another confirmation that the Democrat Party is fundamentally evil, especially in how it has bamboozled the poor, and succored its rich into believing they have the moral high ground on the nation’s conservatives. The Great Divide cannot happen soon enough. (H/T to reader and correspondent)

Can you explain why if the Republican States are so great why eight of the top 10 states with the highest murder rate are Republican?
Here are the 10 states with the highest murder rate according to the FBI:
Louisiana (12.4 per 100k)
Missouri (9.8 per 100k)
Nevada (9.1 per 100k)
Maryland (9 per 100k)
Arkansas (8.6 per 100k)
Alaska (8.4 per 100k)
Alabama (8.3 per 100k)
Mississippi (8.2 per 100k)
Illinois (7.8 per 100k)
South Carolina (7.8 per 100k)

Thus, the change has set in. The word EVIL to describe the Lefties is becoming common place in Conservation and Libertarian leaning editorials. Much more common than 2 years ago. Not longer hyperbole or used for shock value, but a statement of fact. The Change.
Once, it was we saw them as good people with bad ideas, while they almost saw us as bad people with bad ideas…which never has changed. Turn the page and it became we saw them as people with bad ideas. Turn the page again to bring us to the present and it is we now we see them as evil people with evil ideas.
Florida governor Rick DeSantis is writing the playbook, at less as R governors go, on how to deal with them and the Enemy of the People, aka, the Democrat Party News Networks. Masterful. The template. It’s how to do it.
Unfortunately, too many R governors toss in the towel when the pressure builds and builds as the biggest companies in the state and donors stop contributing because of pressure from the WOKE.
Disney is probably the biggest corporation in FL with thousands of employees and cruise lines and Disneyworld, yet DeSantis did not bend a knee or lose two seconds telling them that sexual orientation studies have no place in FL’s kindergarten thru third grade.
The Left has always been OCD about the sexualizing kids and toddlers. Gov. DeSantis sez ‘Go pound sand and eat a grunt sandwich and die, Disney, and school boards and wacko Marxist pervs.’No on Gov DeSantis’s watch, on in FL public schools.
The Left are evil. Those are not bad ideas, they are evil ideas.

I will only respond if you use Paul , Emery or Paul Emery. Three choices.

Maybe if Paul checked the murder rates of the largest cities of those states, he'd find out something of value rather than broad brush an entire state. And maybe check who runs those cities. And of course if Paul was actually interested in educating himself in a statistic, he might look into the ethnicity of the offenders.
Whoops - now Paul is no longer all that interested in facts and he'll change the subject entirely or ask why Trump didn't end all crime when he was president.
Maybe if Paul really wanted to check into crime rates and stats he'd be interested in what the Soros squads are doing to the crime rates in general beyond one cherry-picked type of crime.
Posted by: Scott O | 16 March 2022 at 05:04 PM
Well, that might be a bit difficult for Punchy, so I'll help.
If you click the link you gave
https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/murder-rate-by-state
You go to a page with a nice graphic with hexagothe Fns per state, in a frame with a title bar, murder rate by state, on the left side, and text that goes on about the FBI being the source. On the right side of that title bar, you'll see "show source". Interesting.
Click that and you get "homicide rate by state". Hmmm. Click that, and you get to this page:
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/homicide_mortality/homicide.htm
Golly! It's a CDC page, not FBI, and it's definitely homicide data.
CDC is notorious for fiddling numbers to make firearms appear to be like an infectious agent. Sometimes these things are innocent errors but based on the hidden info, I doubt it.
You're welcome, Punch.

Thats one way to crater mid terms -
The vast majority, 77.3 percent, said “yes,” while just 9.3 percent said “no.”
Individuals hold the same sentiments across party lines, as 67 percent of Democrats want Biden to prioritize American energy production, as do 88.6 percent of Republicans and 77.6 percent of independents.
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2022/03/16/poll-majority-say-biden-should-prioritize-increasing-american-energy-production/
No one trusts his lies and the crumble like a stale cookie -
Mr. Blas's chart shows the opposite, that oil companies failed to pass on the cost of the crude price increase to customers at the gas pump.
According to most recent data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), 56% of the cost of gasoline is the hard cost of crude oil that the refiners have to pay. The chart shows that the price increase at the pump failed to keep up with the incredible jump in crude oil prices. It also shows that oil companies were making less money, not more on the way up.

Punchy,, Puncy, Punchy
Here is another fact that is not disputed. Black Americans (13% of the US population) commit half the murders in the USA. Since the majority of those murderers are male and female Blacks commit around 10% of less of the Black homicides, we can toss out the females (1/2 the Black community) and that means 6.5% of the population commits almost half of all murders.
Of those Black Americans who commit the crime of homicide, 90+ of those murders are perpetrated on Blacks. Black on Black. White murder whites in case you were wondering. Yes, there is come crossover, but mostly in the 10% range outside their race.
Now, let’s look where those murders are happening to see if there is any concentrated areas. Oh my. Chicago, Philly, New Orleans, Detroit, Los Angeles, DC, Baltimore, Newark, all major cities off the top of my head. Think PA has a R Gov, or is that Maryland?
Dilution is the solution. Think the mayor of Las Vegas is an independent. One rotten apple can spoil the whole barrel and one Urban Eyesore can spoil the whole state.
So, if we truly cared about Blacks (and minorities) being murdered, we should go after that 6-7% of the population and black homicides will drop 90% and the homicides in the USA will drop by half.
Truly, you are a grave dancer, Punchy. Standing on the bodies of murdered folks to make some reprehensible po,itical point about Red States. Does standing on those homicide victims make you feel six inches taller or a foot?
Evil is as evil does.
Posted by: Bill Tozer | 16 March 2022 at 05:51 PM
Toes, there's also the issue that Black Murderers Matter and they mostly aren't Republicans. Mostly.
There's another problem... is the determination done from the initial crime report or is it after it had worked its way through the legal system with the perpetrator found guilty?
I'm unsure what link Punch is looking at now or what he thinks the data says, but I can wait.

--------------------
Speaking of hate facts, here's one I ran into (or at least as 'fact'ish as you'll see in a sociology paper).
"In sum, our aggregate analysis reveals that the effects of economic inequality on arrest rates for violent crimes vary by race. For whites, high income
inequality is a robust predictor of high violence rates, but for blacks it is a poor
predictor. In contrast to what one would anticipate on the basis of the literature
(but see Sampson1987),economic inequality does not appear to be a particularly important cause (i.e.,not in a direct, contemporaneous sense)of high rates of
black violent crime."
-Harer, M. D., & Steffensmeier, D. (1992). The Differing Effects of Economic Inequality on Black and White Rates of Violence. Social Forces, 70(4), 1035. doi:10.2307/2580200

...in any case, the whole murder thing is old hat, the arguments are always the same.
Given the US Left's swing from healthcare-for-all and taxing the rich to Crazytown, I think that mental health is a much better kind of metric.
I mean, there's umpteen studies out there that show the same thing as this thread:
"1/n Two interesting findings thus far from my analysis of Pew's March 2020 COVID-19 survey. First, white (and especially 'very') liberals are far more likely than all other ideological-racial subgroups to report being diagnosed with a mental health condition. "

Paul 5:21 - You're just repeating yourself, Paul.
I'm well aware of what you posted. Did you have some kind of point to make? Or maybe respond in some way to dispute or expand on what I wrote?
George's point is that the Dems have a pattern of failing to bring about what they claim they will accomplish for our society. In California the Dems' policies have resulted in an obvious disaster for most of the citizens of the state.
Showing up here with a single point of murder rates does nothing to alter the facts that George has pointed out. States are not one big uniform homogeneous blob. Murder rates vary depending on many factors but this is obviously beyond your skill set to discover. You stumble onto one chart that you stupidly believe makes some kind of point in your favor and are then no longer curious. Some of us care about the incidences and causes of crime and murder but you lefties care no more about it than to use it as a club to attempt to make points and feel better about yourself.
