[Millions of workers are in their hammocks enjoying govt checks and depressing the labor participation rate to 62.3% from 63.4% at the end of Trump’s administration during which time it was increasing for the first time since the 2008 Great Recession. Yes, during the entire ‘Obama recovery’ more and more people were leaving their jobs. The participation rate includes worker with jobs and those actively looking for jobs. This makes the cited 3.6% unemployment rate a hokey statistic; millions more are sitting on their butts enjoying govt handouts while employers are looking for workers and paying excessive wages to those working. These high labor costs are another one of Biden’s Blunders which contributes to our soaring inflation. Bumblebrain has given new meaning to ‘loser’. gjr]

Here's another goodie from Trumps MAGA camp:
From Eric Greitens, Republican Senate candidate from Missouri and a real Trumper for sure:
"We are sick and tired of the Republicans in Name Only surrendering to Joe Biden & the radical Left," Greitens says in the tweet. "Order your RINO Hunting Permit today!"
The ad shows a rifle-toting Greitens, whose wife accused him of physically abusing her and their son, and shows men in military uniforms battering open the door to a house and tossing flash-bang grenades inside, as the former U.S. Navy SEAL walks inside the smoke-filled room with his pitch to voters. Here's more
"Join the MAGA crew, get a RINO hunting permit," Greitens said There’s no bagging limit, no tagging limit, and it doesn’t expire until we save our country.”

Paul continues to lie - "But according to Bill and Scott it was probably unconstitutional because it wasn't specifically in the Constitution."
Never said that, Paul.
Slavery was unconstitutional chiefly because of that thingie called the 14th Amendment.
"equal protection under the law"
Maybe if Paul stopped lying and making up BS and studied the Constitution he would rise above the level of Grade A jackass.

Paul. The Constitution never mentions bullets or lead balls either. If you want to dance on the head of a pin, then free press only covers the quill and ink holder.
You are not taking this well, Punch. Yes, a Convention of the States must be called with 3/4 of the State Houses on board and 2/3 of Congress (think it is the Senate). Then, in a peaceful process, the electors from each State House can vote to amend the Constitution. The other way is also laid out in the Constitution…the people rise up and violently and bloody if necessary overthrow the Government that does not serve them well. We the people.
The right to abort an unborn child is not a God given human right that proceeds our government, IMHO. Neither is it a right under natural law. Freedom, liberty, right to petition government for injury or harm done, equal Justice before the law, the right to move around freely in your own country, the right to purse and chart your own course in life….and more.
Interesting to note that the NRA is the oldest civil rights organization in the country. Government (State and local) tells me how fast I may drive, but not the Fed’s. It’s not in their lane.
All the arguments for and against killing an unborn child (fetus) has been argued to death, pun not intended. I would say that a woman who says it is my body must also must recognize that, if pregnant, your body now contains a penis inside (50-50 chance) and that is not your body, but a male inside your body waiting to get out.
But, that argument is just words spilled on the ground.
Oh Paul, it won’t take a Constitution Amendment in the least. What do you think our lawmakers in Sac are going to do? Ban abortions? Nope. Expand, not ban.
As Nancy Pelosi said herself, toro-lifers are not welcome in the Democrat Party…about 4 years ago. The Democrat Party is the party of abortion, no ifs ands or butts about it. Only pro-abortion folks allowed under the BIG TENT.
The Supreme Court is not a branch of the Legislature nor part of the Executive Branch. The Supreme Court interprets the Constitutionality of a law and whose lane is it that has authority. Fed’s overreach, shoot it down. States violate the Constitution or civil rights or discriminates against religion, shoot it down. If Constitutional, uphold.
It is well past time that SCOTUS cease and desist writing law. It’s not their job. That’s why we vote for lawmakers, not SCOTUS. Go ahead, pack the court and threaten judges lives, just like in Mexico or El Salvador or……any of Bernie’s paradises.

Barry
You have a right to believe what you believe about when a conception becomes a baby but you don't have the right to impose that on others.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 24 June 2022 at 08:16 AM
Paul - it's a human life. A 'baby' is just a stage of human life the same as a child or an adolescent.
Once the double helix is formed it becomes a distinct individual human life. An abortion by necessity kills the human life. No matter what your views on abortion are, you must acknowledge and deal with this fact. That's medical science.
You are free to have whatever science fiction fantasy you want to have, but you have no right to impose your delusion on others.

From the moment the ovum joins with a sperm, a unique life is formed.

Here's a realistic look from at what the Repubs have to look forward to in '24. Add to this it certainly won't be Biden they are running agaisnt:
From Jeff Greenfield:
If Republicans are thinking optimistically about a 2024 campaign without Trump as their nominee, they are also in the grip of an illusion — one which demonstrates a striking lack of understanding about who Trump is.
Here’s the illusion: Trump runs again, but GOP voters are persuaded it is time to turn the page; then, after a series of losses in states ranging from New Hampshire to Georgia to Florida, Trump realizes that there is no mathematical way for him to win the nomination, and throws his support to the apparent nominee, pledging to do all he can to ensure a Republican victory.
OK, now let’s return to planet Earth.
It is the fundamental belief — or tropism — of Trump that he is incapable of losing an election honestly. The loss itself is proof of fraud, and even a potential loss is grounds for rejecting the results. In one of the first debates of 2016, he was the only Republican candidate who would not pledge to back the party’s ultimate nominee. When he lost the Iowa caucuses to Ted Cruz, he tweeted: “Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified.” He claimed he lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton in 2016 because of the “millions” of aliens who voted illegally.
“I think there was tremendous cheating in California,” he told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “There was tremendous cheating in New York and other places.” Since Election Night in 2020, he has claimed to have won “by a landslide” in every contested state. (This instinct is not confined to the political world. Trump claims he was cheated out of an Emmy when he hosted “The Apprentice” and constantly asserts that the 58-story Trump Tower is really 68 stories high).

PaulE 400p - Do you really think that anyone on the Right will take seriously "realistic looks" from such a leftwing commentator, no matter how many Emmys they've garnered? But that doesn't mean you shouldn't keep them coming since it does reveal what you believe and why.
Posted by: George Rebane | 25 June 2022 at 04:33 PM
So George you don't even bother consider Jeff Greenfield look at the Trump personality and his self
aggrandizement that borders on mental illness. The man is such a liar that no one takes him seriously anymore except his fanatical followers.
Take this one example: In a phone call with Secretary of State of Georgia Brad Raffensperger he said, and it's recorded on tape that he won the Georga Presidential election by "hundreds of thousands of votes". George, that is such a lie and is totally delusional and the fact that he's using that as a fact when in his line of duty to try and swing the election is likely illegal. You can't just make things up like that in an official line of duty.
All in all the commentary by Jeff Greenfield id dead on and you'd better believe that senate minority leader mitch mcconnell is totally aware of what Trump might do if he is not picked to run.
The Repubs lose either way. If Trumps wins the nomination he will be easy to beat by almost everybody because he's a total nut case with a fanatical following but not enough to win . If he loses he will split the Party because he NEVER accepts losing. And of course he won't be running against Biden.
Here's a link to Trumps lie to Raffensperger that was recorded.

How is this an "off-wall-topic" to my 4:00? For some reason you seem to still embrace this guy as the future of the Republican party and I just can't understand why. Its so nice to see the ponytail of ignorance's concern for the conservatives. The problem is we are doing just fine in the macro sense. Poised to take over the federal legislative branch to cripple creepy grampa joes ability to do any more mayhem on citizens.
As of June 8, 2022, Republicans controlled 54.33% of all state legislative seats nationally, while Democrats held 44.39%. Republicans held a majority in 62 chambers, and Democrats held the majority in 36 chambers. One chamber (Alaska House) was organized under a multipartisan, power-sharing coalition.

The following is a list of the current governors of the states and territories of the United States. As of 2022 there are 28 Republicans and 22 Democrats holding the office of governor in the states

“who will likely destroy the legitimate Conservative movement in this country that you embrace.”
Perhaps what Brother Paul has overlooked in 2016, as well as today, that many folks welcomed a shakeup of the Republican Party. In fact, some like me figured the Grand Ole Party needed a quick swift kick in the teeth. And a cleansing. A few beheadings. . We started cleansing our side of the street with a vengeance, but the Presidential Election put that on paise. Remember Eric Cantor? William Kristol? Paul Ryan? John Boehner, speaker of the House?
Some folks like Mark Levine say they are not a Republican, not a conservative, they are a Constitutionalist. The Constitution is his manual, our Nation’s how-to book. Need look not further to come up with labels.
The failure to grasp the differences between R’s and Conservatives cannot computer.Told ya in 2015 that we start with out side of the street ruthlessly with some beheadings and then we turn our attention to the other side of the aisle. Eyes on you, buddy.

PaulE 925am - Another teaching moment Paul, but I do appreciate that you asked a question instead wrongly asserting what I would do. But a more informative question would have been, 'Under what circumstances would you NOT vote for Trump as the Republican candidate?'
Assuming Trump does nothing super-stupid in the interval, it would be hard for me not to vote for Trump were the Dems to run with one of their more prominent socialists. But if 1) Trump did something to make him clearly unelectable, and 2) the Repubs still nominated him, then I would most likely vote third party (Libertarian?).
Do you have a possible Dem in mind for whom I could vote, say Manchin or Gabbard? Which Repubs would get your vote in what kind of match-up?
