[It appears that the pro-abortion Left is continuing to violate laws and practice violence in demonstrating its opposition to the SCOTUS ruling that overturned Roe v Wade. Compare the coverage of these protests on the various ideologically oriented media outlets. None of the protesters seem to know what the ruling really said and how it preserves democracy in the land. gjr]

THE WEEK IN PICTURES: LIBERAL HUBRIS EDITION
“The cunning and contingency of history played out in magnificent style this week. If the left hadn’t lionized “Notorious RGB” and let her celebrity get to her head, maybe she would have stepped down when President Obama wanted her to retire back in 2014. If Harry Reid hadn’t been so desperate to protect the administrative state at the DC Circuit Court of Appeals that he decided to end the Senate filibuster for judges, Trump couldn’t have installed so many good judges. And who could have believed that after 50 years of Republican presidents botching their Supreme Court picks, the one who finally got it right turned out to be . . . Donald Trump. And a week later, it appears that Biden’s fall from a bike was an omen for the week to come for the left. But above all, this week was Justice Thomas’s Moment: he’s the true intellectual leader of the Court now.”

President Joe Biden left Hunter Biden a voicemail in 2018 about a business deal with Chinese energy giant CEFC, directly contradicting Joe Biden’s statement in 2019 that he and his son had not spoken about the family’s corrupt business schemes.
“Hey pal, it’s Dad. It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you,” Joe Biden said, according to the Daily Mail, which first revealed the recording.
“I thought the article released online, it’s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you’re clear. And anyway if you get a chance give me a call, I love you,” the message concluded.

George 26 June 2022 10:48 AM, via Sandbox for 6/16-
Hey, you closed the Sandbox for 6/16. You asked PE for Dem recommendations for Pres if you found Trump too over the top. And you suggested Gabbard.
Surely you are aware it's T'nT - Tulsi & Trump, for P & VP on the Repub ticket. Let's go Tulsi!!
Posted by: The Estonian Fox | 28 June 2022 at 09:11 AM
Efox 911am - I always close the old Sandbox when the new one is posted. Conversation threads are understood to continue in the new one.
Yes, I heard some fevered brains posit TnT, but I believe that not possible as long as Trump has a functioning ego. However, Trump & Tulsi will make people think about that team with the eye that Tulsi can show her worth and prepare for 2028. IMHO, Trump on the 2024 ticket will diminish the probability of a Republican victory. How about a DeSantis & Tulsi match-up? Or if both Manchin and Tulsi switch parties, then a historic Manchin & Tulsi team would make a lot of people reconsider the definition of mid-road politics. (Not sure of established Repub leadership accepting and promoting such recent arrivals.)
Posted by: George Rebane | 28 June 2022 at 10:30 AM
Right now DeSantis would have my nod, although I couldn't vote for him until he was on the general ticket in Nov '24. Tulsi would probably be the most tolerable Dem running for POTUS but she is still too much of a big govt lib on a lot of issues. Don't know why anyone would bother looking for a "mid-road" Republican to run. The Dems and the Lame Stream will label ANYONE on the R ticket as the next Ultra-Hitler (remember Romney?)
It will be amusing to see what the Dems pick for the next go-round. First of course, they have to get rid of Brandon and the Cackling Hyena.
Posted by: Scott O | 28 June 2022 at 11:18 AM
ScottO 1118a - Yes, watching the Dems squirm in preparing their 2024 ticket is very entertaining and worth the price of admission.
Re looking for mid-road Repubs - Do you not agree that the party's senior leadership (McConnell et al) is trying to do exactly that in their attempt to counter the Left's characterization of every Repub candidate as the second coming of Hitler or Genghis Kahn?

fish - "...preparations are already underway."
Sleepy Joe will be easy to get rid of - I would expect the Dems to somehow involve Breitbart, Tucker and a few others as being responsible for causing Joe anguish and pain over the slanderous accusations concerning his kids resulting in poor ol Joe having a mental breakdown. The Dems love to resort to victimhood.
Now Camel-Toe is a different problem.
She's young and healthy and has failed at everything all the while the Dems have been claiming she's wonderful. With or without a teleprompter she has been shown to be an embarrassment to the human race. Maybe send her overseas on a Ron Brown plane ride? Dunno.
Posted by: Scott O | 28 June 2022 at 02:10 PM
George 11:32 - "Do you not agree that the party's senior leadership (McConnell et al) is trying to do exactly that in their attempt to counter the Left's characterization of every Repub candidate as the second coming of Hitler or Genghis Kahn?"
And that is one reason I have very little regard for the entrenched Republican leadership. They're too slow to get the picture. They could ASK the DNC what R they should run who would be palatable to the Dems and the Dems would still end up painting that candidate as the late German Chancellor combined with The Exalted Wizard.

George 5:39 - Agreed. The Rs could run Jesus Christ for POTUS and the Dems would manufacture something.
My point was that the RNC is still trying to play nice and be 'agreeable' in order to win. Is it any wonder why Trump was such a breath of fresh air that carried him to victory?
Trump cared first and foremost about what he thought was best for our country. Too many Rs care more about their job and position.
The Dems heroes are like Harry Reid - full of piety and moral virtue but will openly admit to pulling every dirty trick they know to win. I think McConnell (among others) is actually compromised and really at this stage just working to keep his job. Get rid of him.

Paul is still trying to justify the rapture of endorsing the wanton killing of innocent human life.
If he doesn't like the term "killing babies" he should educate himself on just how far along in a pregnancy they want to allow an abortion.
The more advanced in development of the fetus, the more valuable it is in dollars to PP.
And as long as Paul wants to look at a dictionary - maybe he can figure out what an abortion has to do with "reproductive health".

Golly - who knew that printing trillions of dollars unsupported by actual value and then deliberately jacking up the cost of energy would cause inflation?

Paul, if you're going to justify hunting babies, we'll need a cookbook entry. Fryer or roaster?
Posted by: Hungrylike | 29 June 2022 at 05:29 PM
Scott
Why is it so hard for you to come up with a definition for "baby" especially since I provided one for you from Websters.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 29 June 2022 at 05:38 PM
Also who is the "they" you refer to in your. From your post:
"he should educate himself on just how far along in a pregnancy THEY want to allow an abortion."

Scott
Clarification
Also who is the "they" you refer to in your 29 June 2022 at 05:02 PM post
Posted by: Paul Emery | 29 June 2022 at 05:52 PM
Paul - "Why is it so hard for you to come up with a definition for "baby""
No one asked me to and there doesn't seem to be a need.
So - your question makes no sense.
Why is it so hard for Paul to acknowledge human life?
Posted by: Scott O | 29 June 2022 at 06:26 PM

Paul - "Also who is the "they" you refer to..."
Hence - my admonition to 'educate yourself'.
Maybe I'm asking too much, here.
Posted by: Scott O | 29 June 2022 at 06:29 PM
It's simple to answer my question Scott, give it a go. I have no idea who your "they" may be.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 29 June 2022 at 07:03 PM
Well guess i could understand your confusion in the age of 50 sexes and unlimited pronouns! @703
;-)
Posted by: Don Bessee | 29 June 2022 at 07:33 PM
Paul - "I have no idea who your "they" may be."
I believe you, Paul. You rarely have any idea of what is going on.
Who in hell do you think it is?
The Catholic Church?
Try the party you champion, Paul - what is their stated position on what they would like to see as law re abortion?
Posted by: Scott O | 29 June 2022 at 07:35 PM

Scott
So it seems you don't have any idea who "they" might be. It's a tough road to travel out there when you don't even understand your own statements.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 29 June 2022 at 08:25 PM
Also Scott
When you refer to killing babies I assume you mean fetuses who were birthed which makes them babies and I am totally opposed to that so what's your point in bringing it up? A useful conversation could be about abortion of fetuses and what month should be the limit on abortions not including dire danger to the life of the woman..

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming received a warm welcome while speaking as part of the "A Time for Choosing" speakers series held by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation. She speaks as a true Conservative not as a phony MAGA Trump worshiper.
"I know at this moment we are confronting a domestic threat we have never faced before and that is a former president who is attempting to unravel the foundations of our constitutional republic and he is aided by Republican leaders and elected officials who have made themselves willing hostages to this dangerous and irrational man," she said.
"Some in my party are embracing former President Trump and even after all we have seen, they are enabling his lies. Many urge we do not confront Donald Trump, that we look away, and that is certainly the easier path. One need only look at the threats facing the witnesses who have come before the Jan. 6 committee to understand the nature and magnitude of that threat, but to argue the threat posed by Donald Trump can be ignored is to cast aside the responsibility that every citizen, everyone must not do that, and we cannot do that."
"As the full picture is coming into view with the Jan.6 committee, it has become clear that the efforts Donald Trump oversaw and engaged in were even more chilling and more threatening than we could have imagined," Cheney said. "As we have shown, Donald Trump attempted to overturn the presidential election and attempted to stay in office and prevent the peaceful transfer of power. He summoned the mob to Washington, he knew they were armed on Jan. 6, he knew they were angry and he directed the violent mob to march on the Capitol in order to delay or prevent the counting of votes."
"The reality we face today as Republicans, as we think about the choice in front of us, we have to choose, because Republicans cannot be loyal to both Donald Trump and to the Constitution at this moment," she said to applause.
"We must not elect people who are more loyal to themselves or to power than they are to our Constitution," she said, to more applause.
"And I want to speak to every young girl watching tonight: the power is yours and so is the responsibility. In our great nation, one individual can make all the difference and each individual must try. There are no bystanders in a constitutional republic and let me say this to the little girls and young women watching tonight, these days, for the most part, men are running the world, and it is really not going that well," she said to cheers and applause.
Here's the speech in it's entirety

Paul - Your brain is busted. Why does it 'seem' I don't know who I was talking about when I just told you.
"A useful conversation could be about abortion of fetuses and what month should be the limit..."
Why a limit, Paul? You mean you are against killing an innocent human being at one stage of life - but not another? Interesting. One second it's garbage pail trash and the next - it's soooo precious!
So, yeah Paul. Lets talk about that.
Posted by: Scott O | 29 June 2022 at 09:20 PM
So Scott you must be opposed to day after pills with that belief. I know that's what Barry believes because he stated it.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 29 June 2022 at 09:30 PM
Oh, now we're onto day after pills. Golly - I thought you wanted to have a conversation about when it was okie-dokie to kill innocent human life.
So much for that.

Paul, you gave a list of definitions for 'baby', many of which were semantically orthogonal ('baby' carries a lot of meanings today). Which one is yours? And if renaming the pre-partum critter a 'fetus' instead of 'baby' makes it easier for you and yours to kill it, then rejoice in the comfort it gives you in promoting/condoning the deed. What's in a name indeed?
Posted by: George Rebane | 29 June 2022 at 09:55 PM
Scott
It's what she says that's important not whether she will win re-election which is unlikely. Do you agree with her when she says:
"The reality we face today as Republicans, as we think about the choice in front of us, we have to choose, because Republicans cannot be loyal to both Donald Trump and to the Constitution at this moment, We must not elect people who are more loyal to themselves or to power than they are to our Constitution,"

"because Republicans cannot be loyal to both Donald Trump and to the Constitution at this moment,..."
Why not?
All Trump wanted was a clean, honestly run election.
How is that Un-Constitutional?
She hates Trump and is currently participating in a horrific abuse of congressional power. The J6 committee is a sick joke.

Who knew that geniuses walk among us:
Mayor of St Paul - "“If we understand that people aren’t poor because they lack character, they’re poor because they lack money, then all the things that we correlate with poverty suddenly aren’t acts of God anymore,” he said Wednesday."
So - that's it - the only difference between the well-off and the poor is just lack of money! Who knew?
We could ask why they 'lack money', but that would get us into a lot of stuff we don't wanna talk about.
Anyway the brave new world fix-it program is called:
'People’s Prosperity Guaranteed Income Pilot'.
Huzzah.
And after the trial period, there will be a 'study period' and after that, anyone asking pesky questions will be labeled as a domestic terrorist.

you are dealing with the Pinball Wizard as one poter noted.
Fish; your garage pull down loft ladder during a heat warning now seems not to crazy. i have been doing a french drain about 170' long and deep iin no shade for a week. What a splendid idea after procrastinating all April and May in cooler weather. Funny how that seems to be the way things go. Got heat exhaustion Sat and still not recovered. But a headlamp and shovel and back at it.
So, who is more crazy now? Darn workers nowadays only good for three hours and don't like hose water. I am good for only til noon, but at least I don't buy bottled water. Plastics are bad for the enviroment. :)
Seemed like a good idea at the time. Strike that. It seemed like a unwise idea at the time and it was.

Are you kidding Scott. Trump claimed that he won the election in Georga by "hundreds of thousands of votes". Do you believe that and what is the factual basis for that statements?
"The people of Georgia are so angry at what happened to me. They know I won by hundreds of thousands of votes,"

When engaging in a conversation like this about actual definitions it is important not to rely of colloquialisms and use real definitions not ones used specifically tor their emotional impact.

It was crazy.....because if I'd been able to haul my useless carcass out a little earlier in the morning to work I would have still had the light and I wouldn't have been punching out every 15 minutes whining about the heat.

This was the BIG one........
The headline, like everything squeezed out of the Legacy Media is completely misleading. It favors "Coal States" here only because this is where somebody decided to push back. I haven't read the decision so I don't know how broadly it was written but this is going to (I hope) put a big dent into the practice of Administrative Law in the US.
Pity it didn't come 40 years sooner!
