Yeah Paul - I think that Trump really did believe that an honest and fair vote count of legally cast votes would have him winning in Georgia.
Trump was against voter fraud. How does that make him a bad person?
What's Paul Emery's version of what happened in the Presidential limo?
As you said yourself Paul - this isn't a trial.
The rules of fact and evidence are at the whim of the committee.
The reason Trump isn't on trial is because they have nothing on him. This is just a TV show for the boobs with no intelligence.
No wonder you're watching it.

…..and now a brief message from President Tard…..

My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril.

Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.

Oh Tard….such a card.

You do realize that if trials only presented the prosecution's point of view with no cross examinations allowed, conviction rates would skyrocket?

I guess that applies to Ketanji Brown Jackson now too. Though Thomas and she may have to get an impartial ruling, since they both have white spouses. What the hell do we do about that?

Paul Emery

Wow Scott. what deep thinking!!! You THINK that " Trump really did believe that an honest and fair vote count of legally cast votes would have him winning in Georgia." His "thinking" did not involve any factual basis tor his false argument that led to him trying to intimidate Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won this state."
So Scott whaT was the factual base for Trumps statement and was it OK for him to use that unverified information to have Raffensperger flip the election in his favor?

Paul Emery

Gregory

As you know this is a hearing not a trial. Trump has the opportunity to appear to answer questions but refuses to do so. Why do you think that is? Also the fact is that the Repubs chose not to be part of the hearing which was their own choice.

Gregory

Punchy 819a

The GOP House leadership's picks for the "hearings" were refused by Pelosi's people, punch. Dems chose all.

This is apparently a first and against established House rules.

George

What is your opinion of Trump using unverified accusations of voter fraud (which turned out to be untrue) to try to get the election flipped in Georgia?

Paul Emery

George

Trumps motivations for not telling his side of the story publicly are irrelevant. The truth is that had had and still has that opportunity. Don't you think the American public has the right to know?

George Rebane

PaulE 1008a - "irrelevant"?? Is that your view from Mt Olympus? They're most relevant because they determine is attendance at the J6 debacle; and they're relevant to the public which seeks to understand why he's not in attendance there.

The American public has the same right to know about Trump's behavior as it has of Biden's behavior as VP when he was Obama's "point man" on China and Ukraine, which coincided with Hunter's company getting lucrative deals in both countries with a month after he flew to both places with daddy on AF2. Oh yes, and the size of the payoff to the "Big Guy" has never been revealed. But this is just the tip of the Biden's corruption iceberg. Yep, the American people have the right to know. Yet you and lamestream seem to have no interest in such things - I wonder why.

Once again

Can you refresh me as to why Trump decided not to testify under oath at the J6 hearings?

As far as I can tell Trump had the opportunity to investigate Hunter B's accusations while he was President and was top law enforcement officer in the country. Why did he not do that?

Michael Kesti

It seems to me that the J6 committee and you have similar motivations. You and they appear to be so afraid that Trump will again be POTUS that, despite being able to specify any committed crimes, you all choose to denigrate him in any way that you can. In other words, this is little more than overgrown negative political campaigning.

Perhaps you should write him and ask yourself. Former presidents frequently respond to letters sent and he certainly, not counting his time on the links, has the time to respond.

You could treat it the same way you did when you were in grammar school and the assignment was to write a letter to now former president Martin Van Buren.

Paul Emery

Michael

I've stated many times my optimism that Trump will be the Repubs choice for Pres in '22. He is after all the biggest political loser in modern history having lost the House, Senate and re-elecrtion in just 4 years, the only President to do that since sometime in the 1800's.

re MichaelK 100pm - Paul, listen to Michael. He's right on the money. As for me, I'm promoting Kamala Harris as the Dems' 2024 nominee. She's a fine candidate with all the good credentials - former prosecutor from a major state, same for being an experienced senator, member of minority, female, open and friendly, very communicative in her speech. When she speaks, everyone knows exactly the quality of the intellect behind her carefully chosen words. I think the Dems will miss a great opportunity to have the country elect the first female president if they don't nominate her. Go Kamala!

It happens to be my true thought Michael. The Repubs are in a tough spot. Either Trump the loser gets the nomination or they replace him and he splits the party. Remember, this man has no friends. Ask Jeff Sessions who was among Trumps earliest supporters who Trump called "scum" after he didn't do his bidding.
Mitch Connell said this of Trump and Jan 6"

"January 6 was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of domestic business they did not like. Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police.

They stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the vice president.

They did this because they’d been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on earth because he was angry he lost an election.

"In that moment, something takes over and we all become united in an inexplicable bond. Yes, America is in strife right now, but you know what...we already bought the fireworks."

"The city of Orlando sincerely regrets the negative impact our words have had on some in our community," the city said. President Trump did get more votes than any other sitting President in history. 2nd most votes ever, knocking Obama down from first to third on the most votes for a Presidential race, with Trump getting the most ever for a sitting President.

How about the damage due to the overturning of Rowe v Wade?

Also what is so ironic about the Republicans is how they made such an issue about character when Clinton was running for President (he was a dog by the way) but not a peep about that from Republican Trump supporters. That comparison does not include Mitch McConnell who writes:

"January 6 was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of domestic business they did not like. Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police.Thhey stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the speaker of the House. Punch, you mean Roe v Wade?

Abortion wasn't in the Constitution. It still isn't.

Funny how you ignore the right to have and carry guns (it's right in the Bill of Rights) while hallucinating a right of women (whatever those are) to kill unborn human babies from conception to birth in the same document.

Had the left liberal mind not bumped up against the time of birth as the upper bound, first trimester abortions might still be settled law.

Michael Kesti

Paul Emery | 04 July 2022 at 01:36 PM

Roe v Wade was overturned by the SCOTUS rather than POTUS and the court correctly returned the power to legislate in the matter to the legislatures. By design via the US Constitution, popularity polls are irrelevant to courts’ decisions.

Your whataboutism re Republicans’ reaction to Clinton in no way addresses that some support Trump because they prioritize results over personality.

Paul 1:54 - The Clintons' 'moral character' was that both of them were amoral. Both of them were worthless liars who had achieved nothing in their professional lives beyond attaining ever more power. Bill was publicly denounced by a fellow Dem as a "skilled liar". He was impeached for lying under oath and was disbarred.
His best actions as POTUS were classic Republican ideas such as welfare reform but his legacy re our military was that he gutted it and dumped the cost of fed programs off into the budgets of future admins.
Trump's actions as POTUS were directly responsible for building up our economy to be quite strong.
He was gaining support among non-whites and the Dems and RINOs were having their private country club corruption schemes threatened.
Talk about irony - Paul sides with entrenched corruption and old school DC power!

Bill Tozer

Let it all out Punch. All those years of holding all those resentments in are going to drive ya crazy.

THE UNALIENABLE RIGHT TO GROOM
The Biden administration has taken strong exception to Florida’s anti-grooming law, which requires that public school teachers wait until kids are in the fourth grade before inculcating them with LGBTQTrans ideology. Biden intends to fight for grooming to the last nonbinary person:

“[T]he White House claims there will be federal intervention in opposition to the anti-grooming law. Moves for federal mediation include “monitoring” by the Department of Education and calls for people to file formal complaints about the law’s restrictions with the Department’s Office for Civil Rights.”

Deprivation of the right to groom five to eight year old children. I suppose we shouldn’t laugh, next time there is a liberal majority on the Supreme Court, they might find such a right hidden where they have come up with abortion and others.

Re: The 4th of July

Holy Smokes. I am today’s topic listed under the 4th of July of all places. How cool is dat, discounting the fact Punchy Emery being off topic of course. Gives Trump a day off from Punch Emerroid’s moral outrage.

A point of clarification before returning outside where I do what I please in the breeze.
Psul Emerytoad, I did not advocate breaking into Pelosi’s DC office. I said ‘something to the effect of’ if I was there on Jan 6, I would take a nice smooth consistent movement of Pelosi’s desk, careful not to disturb any of her papers or touch things on their desk.

If I was in the Capitol Building that day, Nancy office door would have already been wide open, so no break in. I would not have riffled through anyone’s desk. I would, if I was holding one back, pinch off a nice Lincoln Log as a gift to Nan. A gift to her from a fellow Northern Californian. I would not have left nary one tissue of TP or touched anything on her desk.
So, let’s get it straight, Emery Ant. No break ins in anyone’s office. No opening locked doors. I do not advocate breaking and entering, nor burglary. That is what thieves do. I may be a lot of things, but never had a history or inclination of thievery

“No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.”

Well, good news for Psul. I'm sure he gets as bored as we do with his 24/7 Trump-Hate.
There's a new shiny object for him to direct his attention towards.
"Former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was a “fascist.”

According to Dean, that made him “much scarier” than former President Donald Trump as a potential 2024 Republican presidential nominee."

Oh - much scarier.
Much, much, much scarier.

Did that happen to you at kvmr, is that why you are so obsessed with it?

So Punchy Emery………not any house or business. The People’s House and only one specific desk. There is always a one-off, the exception to the rule.

I was thinking to exact same thing. Probably a homeless guy. Hope he/she did not leave a boneless brown trout on the control panels. That would be a bad way to start the day. Whatever, it certainly appears to hit close to home. Maybe it was bear that left a gift basket on his front porch…or a homeless dude. Maybe that naked homeless lady who pops up now and then. :)

So Bill if somebody breaks into a house or a business and the door is wide open .....

If the door is wide open why would they break in Psul?

Paul Emery

So fish in your opinion it is not against the law for anyone to do what Bill proposes. If the door is not locked walk into the office of any elected representative and take a crap on their desk. And Bill while we're at it is that a right granted by the Constitution?

No...... I just wanted to know why they were breaking in if the door was “wide open”.

Psul Emery, aka, Punchy Emery, the pony tail of ignorance, Punch Emeryyyyyeieiooo.

I thought you said you will not reply/respond to any comment that does not address you as Paul, Psul Emery, Paul Emery, or Emery. Please try to put upon your higher moral preening garment and follow the roadmap you have self-imposed upon yourself. We all make mistakes, as humans do, and lying is such an ugly word.

As much courage and fortitude as it takes, please please Punchy Emery show these lowly Circle Jerks the way to transmit your higher wisdom and be as good as your word. I look up to you and would be devastated if you respond/reply/acknowledge this comment addressing you as Punchy Emery. Thank you in advance.

Paul Emery

Once again Bill you stated that you would take a shit on Nancy Pelosi's desk. You say it's a "one off". Here's your words "There is always a one-off, the exception to the rule." Can you explain that? Are you saying it is not against the law to take a shit on the desk of an elected Representative if it's a "one off"?

Bill Tozer

That's our Psul - always with the deep, deep Constitutional questions of the day!

Let's hope this one doesn't get to the high court before the Dems pack it with the proper crowd.

The decision will turn on the woke definition of the word "crap".

But, but, but what about your vow to not respond???? I was thrilled when you wrote that. I knew it was too good to be true. I mustn’t reward bad behavior so I cannot permit myself to respond to your promise not to respond. Sorry, but you set the rules, not me. Psul EEEEeeeeeery. To do so otherwise would be wrong.

Scott O

"Are you saying it is not against the law to take a shit on the desk of an elected Representative if it's a "one off"?"

Sounds more like a number 2 off.

Paul Emery

Changed my mind Bill. Simple as that. Sorry if it's inconvenient It's not everyday you get to encounter somebody who thinks it's OK to take a shit on the desk of an elected Representative. Gives a little insight into the Trump mentality.

Bill Tozer

Punchy @ 9:26 pm

Well, when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Changed your mind or changed your rules?

You keep using the word ‘sh*t. Rather crass of you, Puritan Paul. You keep saying $hit over and over again like it gives you some kind of delight, you rebel you. And my mother make me suck on a bar of soap for saying the word ‘crap’. Rather rude, crude, and socially unacceptable if you ask me.

Show me where I used the S word and you will find it was you who uttered such profanity, not me, Paul Portsmouth.
I supposed it would not make any difference if I left a Baby Ruth on Pelosi’s desk.
Break-in? Nah. Let in. Video shows folks being let in. Come on it, the waters warm.

Fish @ 11:24 pm

Same goes for the Buffalo shooter. Now that the Red Flag laws are the latest “do something” gun control mantra, we are not any safer from someone hell bent with the intent of taking the rifle and going out to hunt humans.

Which leads me to go full circle and back to where I started years ago. With very few exceptions, the mass shooters are young single males who were put on head meds by shrinks, doctors, and school counselors. That is the common theme. Prozac babies, mommie’s little babysitter, preferred by teachers to keep troubled students numb.

The other theme is lack of the biological father involved in the boys’ lives. The Highland Park shooter appears to be the exception as he has parents, plural. Always a one-off.

Teachers Union To Vote On Mandatory Masking, Enemies List, Rejecting Words ‘Mother’ And ‘Father’

https://www.dailywire.com/news/teachers-union-to-vote-on-mandatory-masking-enemies-list-rejecting-words-mother-and-father

Ironically since the lockdowns ended, study after study (many peer reviewed) have come out showing there is absolutely no benefit to masking kids. In fact, many of studies (some funded by the CDC) point to harm done to children who are forced to wear masks. Of course these studies fly under the radar as we move on.

Scott O

BT - "...have come out showing there is absolutely no benefit to masking kids."

Your problem here is thinking that the NEA is concerned about what benefits the kids.

Is that not a crime? How about someone saying they want to break into a bank or someone's house and shit on their couch or floor?

Just what law did Bill break by saying something Matlock?

Scott O

BT - "...sign up for a basic economics class."

It's scary that the U.S. Oil and Gas Association thinks anyone teaching econ in an American college or university knows any better than a White House intern.
Everyone at the White House needs to be given a tour of several small businesses in this country and be forced to attend to a lecture from the owners.
Even then...

More gas. Our cause is noble. We all must sacrifice for

HAUTEUR WITH A TWIST OF DECEIT

If you had the unpleasant experience this July Fourth weekend of paying close to $5 for a gallon of gas, you can always comfort yourself with the idea that your pain is for a good cause: the “liberal world order.”

So said Brian Deese, White House director of the National Economic Council, when he was asked on CNN: “What do you say to those families who say, ‘Listen, we can’t afford to pay $4.85 a gallon for months, if not years. This is just not sustainable’?”

Deese, like his boss Joe Biden, is unmoved by the suffering of ordinary Americans, more than two-thirds of whom say gas-price increases are causing them hardship, according to a recent Gallup poll.

“This is about the future of the liberal world order, and we have to stand firm” until Ukraine defeats Russia, declared Deese.”
