[It appears that the pro-abortion Left is continuing to violate laws and practice violence in demonstrating its opposition to the SCOTUS ruling that overturned Roe v Wade. Compare the coverage of these protests on the various ideologically oriented media outlets. None of the protesters seem to know what the ruling really said and how it preserves democracy in the land. gjr]
Yeah Paul - I think that Trump really did believe that an honest and fair vote count of legally cast votes would have him winning in Georgia.
Trump was against voter fraud. How does that make him a bad person?
What's Paul Emery's version of what happened in the Presidential limo?
As you said yourself Paul - this isn't a trial.
The rules of fact and evidence are at the whim of the committee.
The reason Trump isn't on trial is because they have nothing on him. This is just a TV show for the boobs with no intelligence.
No wonder you're watching it.

Wow Scott. what deep thinking!!! You THINK that " Trump really did believe that an honest and fair vote count of legally cast votes would have him winning in Georgia." His "thinking" did not involve any factual basis tor his false argument that led to him trying to intimidate Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won this state."
So Scott whaT was the factual base for Trumps statement and was it OK for him to use that unverified information to have Raffensperger flip the election in his favor?

As you know this is a hearing not a trial. Trump has the opportunity to appear to answer questions but refuses to do so. Why do you think that is? Also the fact is that the Repubs chose not to be part of the hearing which was their own choice.

Trumps motivations for not telling his side of the story publicly are irrelevant. The truth is that had had and still has that opportunity. Don't you think the American public has the right to know?
Posted by: Paul Emery | 03 July 2022 at 10:08 AM
PaulE 1008a - "irrelevant"?? Is that your view from Mt Olympus? They're most relevant because they determine is attendance at the J6 debacle; and they're relevant to the public which seeks to understand why he's not in attendance there.
The American public has the same right to know about Trump's behavior as it has of Biden's behavior as VP when he was Obama's "point man" on China and Ukraine, which coincided with Hunter's company getting lucrative deals in both countries with a month after he flew to both places with daddy on AF2. Oh yes, and the size of the payoff to the "Big Guy" has never been revealed. But this is just the tip of the Biden's corruption iceberg. Yep, the American people have the right to know. Yet you and lamestream seem to have no interest in such things - I wonder why.

As far as I can tell Trump had the opportunity to investigate Hunter B's accusations while he was President and was top law enforcement officer in the country. Why did he not do that?

It seems to me that the J6 committee and you have similar motivations. Perhaps you should write him and ask yourself. Former presidents frequently respond to letters sent and he certainly, not counting his time on the links, has the time to respond.
You could treat it the same way you did when you were in grammar school and the assignment was to write a letter to now former president Martin Van Buren.

I've stated many times my optimism that Trump will be the Repubs choice for Pres in '22. He is after all the biggest political loser in modern history having lost the House, Senate and re-elecrtion in just 4 years, the only President to do that since sometime in the 1800's.

Ask Jeff Sessions who was among Trumps earliest supporters who Trump called "scum" after he didn't do his bidding.
Mitch Connell said this of Trump and Jan 6"
"January 6 was a disgrace. American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of domestic business they did not like. Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police.
They stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the vice president.

Also what is so ironic about the Republicans is how they made such an issue about character when Clinton was running for President (he was a dog by the way) but not a peep about that from Republican Trump supporters. That comparison does not include Mitch McConnell who writes:

Roe v Wade was overturned by the SCOTUS rather than POTUS and the court correctly returned the power to legislate in the matter to the legislatures. By design via the US Constitution, popularity polls are irrelevant to courts’ decisions.
Your whataboutism re Republicans’ reaction to Clinton in no way addresses that some support Trump because they prioritize results over personality.

Bill was publicly denounced by a fellow Dem as a "skilled liar". He was impeached for lying under oath and was disbarred.
His best actions as POTUS were classic Republican ideas such as welfare reform but his legacy re our military was that he gutted it and dumped the cost of fed programs off into the budgets of future admins.
Trump's actions as POTUS were directly responsible for building up our economy to be quite strong.
He was gaining support among non-whites and the Dems and RINOs were having their private country club corruption schemes threatened.

THE UNALIENABLE RIGHT TO GROOM
The Biden administration has taken strong exception to Florida’s anti-grooming law, which requires that public school teachers wait until kids are in the fourth grade before inculcating them with LGBTQTrans ideology. Biden intends to fight for grooming to the last nonbinary person:
“[T]he White House claims there will be federal intervention in opposition to the anti-grooming law. Moves for federal mediation include “monitoring” by the Department of Education and calls for people to file formal complaints about the law’s restrictions with the Department’s Office for Civil Rights.”
Deprivation of the right to groom five to eight year old children. I suppose we shouldn’t laugh, next time there is a liberal majority on the Supreme Court, they might find such a right hidden where they have come up with abortion and others.

Re: The 4th of July
Holy Smokes. I am today’s topic listed under the 4th of July of all places. How cool is dat, discounting the fact Punchy Emery being off topic of course. Gives Trump a day off from Punch Emerroid’s moral outrage.
A point of clarification before returning outside where I do what I please in the breeze.
Psul Emerytoad, I did not advocate breaking into Pelosi’s DC office. I said ‘something to the effect of’ if I was there on Jan 6, I would take a nice smooth consistent movement of Pelosi’s desk, careful not to disturb any of her papers or touch things on their desk.
If I was in the Capitol Building that day, Nancy office door would have already been wide open, so no break in. I would not have riffled through anyone’s desk. I would, if I was holding one back, pinch off a nice Lincoln Log as a gift to Nan. A gift to her from a fellow Northern Californian. I would not have left nary one tissue of TP or touched anything on her desk.
So, let’s get it straight, Emery Ant. No break ins in anyone’s office. No opening locked doors. I do not advocate breaking and entering, nor burglary. That is what thieves do. I may be a lot of things, but never had a history or inclination of thievery

Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.”

The New American Slave Revolt, Led by Clarence Thomas
With a Fourth of July resolve we would do well to remember that the Washington elite and the administrative state that serves it can only be defeated when the people arise against it.

Bette Midler Gets Attacked As A ‘TERF’ After Saying Women Are Being Erased Due to Terms Like ‘Birthing People,’ ‘People With Vaginas’
“The 76-year-old actress’ name started trending on Twitter on the Fourth of July after she posted another rant about how women were “being stripped of their rights” following Roe V. Wade being overturned. In a 6-3 decision, the United States Supreme Court voted to uphold a Mississippi law, and that ruling overturned Roe.
“WOMEN OF THE WORLD! ” Milder’s post read. “We are being stripped of our rights over our bodies, our lives and even of our name!”

Well, good news for Psul. I'm sure he gets as bored as we do with his 24/7 Trump-Hate.
There's a new shiny object for him to direct his attention towards.
"Former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was a “fascist.”
According to Dean, that made him “much scarier” than former President Donald Trump as a potential 2024 Republican presidential nominee."
Oh - much scarier.
Much, much, much scarier.
He's the latest in a long string of Hitler/Satan combos. Now we know that Bush and Romney were previously in that club, but since then they have got their minds right with the Lord and their essays grace the pages of such left wing rags such as The Atlantic, of all places.
So - memo to Psul - be ready to re-direct the venom towards your new target. Get some different messages programed into your Ann Coulter Pull-String action doll and find a new supplier of popcorn.
Don't let the LatinX surname fool you - he may as well have had all his ancestors step off the Mayflower or at least march in the Kaiser's army.
He fools not a single Dem. His red tail fairly twitches under that suit and we know the horns have only been retracted for press conferences.

Same goes for the Buffalo shooter. Now that the Red Flag laws are the latest “do something” gun control mantra, we are not any safer from someone hell bent with the intent of taking the rifle and going out to hunt humans.
Which leads me to go full circle and back to where I started years ago. With very few exceptions, the mass shooters are young single males who were put on head meds by shrinks, doctors, and school counselors. That is the common theme. Prozac babies, mommie’s little babysitter, preferred by teachers to keep troubled students numb.
The other theme is lack of the biological father involved in the boys’ lives. The Highland Park shooter appears to be the exception as he has parents, plural. Always a one-off.

Ironically since the lockdowns ended, study after study (many peer reviewed) have come out showing there is absolutely no benefit to masking kids. In fact, many of studies (some funded by the CDC) point to harm done to children who are forced to wear masks. Of course these studies fly under the radar as we move on.

It's scary that the U.S. Oil and Gas Association thinks anyone teaching econ in an American college or university knows any better than a White House intern.
Everyone at the White House needs to be given a tour of several small businesses in this country and be forced to attend to a lecture from the owners.
Even then...

More gas. Our cause is noble. We all must sacrifice for
HAUTEUR WITH A TWIST OF DECEIT
If you had the unpleasant experience this July Fourth weekend of paying close to $5 for a gallon of gas, you can always comfort yourself with the idea that your pain is for a good cause: the “liberal world order.”
So said Brian Deese, White House director of the National Economic Council, when he was asked on CNN: “What do you say to those families who say, ‘Listen, we can’t afford to pay $4.85 a gallon for months, if not years. This is just not sustainable’?”
Deese, like his boss Joe Biden, is unmoved by the suffering of ordinary Americans, more than two-thirds of whom say gas-price increases are causing them hardship, according to a recent Gallup poll.
“This is about the future of the liberal world order, and we have to stand firm” until Ukraine defeats Russia, declared Deese.”
