[Bumblebrain’s foreign policy bungling and catastrophes have boosted the fortunes of America’s enemies who have now organized themselves into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization of Asian nations, anchored by China and Russia with India and Pakistan already ensconced, Iran ready to step aboard, and Erdogan working to bring Turkey into the fold. The SCO promises to become China’s answer to NATO and support its Belt and Road advances into the Middle East and Africa. While the US continues tangled up in its political nightmare, Team Biden knows as much about this as it does about our "secure" southern border. (more here) gjr]

Under reason #190,732,584 to not trust the media here is a the latest variation on the "Republicans Pounce" narrative!
“A driver charged with fatally striking a teenager in North Dakota allegedly told investigators he purposely hit the teen with his SUV after they had a political argument, according to court documents.”
Can you find the missing piece of data? I’ll let you read it again if you must, but pay attention to the words “political argument.” And of course, we know that Brandt told police he ran Cayler down because he was a “Republican extremist.”
But the Associated Press, which, it should be noted, feeds newsrooms across the nation, decided to omit the fact that Cayler was murdered by Brandt for allegedly being a Republican.
You can read the full story here.
Other AP headlines as of Thursday night included:
Trump’s legal woes mount without the protection of the presidency
Alex Jones testifies in trial over his Sandy Hook lies
Bank officials urge firing of Trump official over ethics probe
Ex-Illinois cop charged in 2020 fatal shooting of Black man
Ohio GOP House candidate has misrepresented military service
“Art of the steal”: Trump accused of vast fraud in NY suit
Notice anything? While all of those stories are true, the AP has no problem spinning headlines and stories to fan the flames of outrage and cast conservatives in the worst possible light. Can you say “partisan”? But when one of the Left’s own commits an atrocity that cannot be swept aside, the story is whitewashed to remove any progressive culpability. Running an 18-year-old down and killing him for being a conservative becomes a “political argument.”

‘California Will Crack Down On Gas-Powered Home Appliances To Meet Climate Targets’
“California’s proposed standard is part of a larger effort to cut household emissions by phasing out gas-powered appliances such as heaters and stoves as space and water heating account for almost 90% of all building-related natural gas demand, according to CARB estimates. The proposed ban would also make California the first state to ban gas-fueled furnaces and water heaters in homes.”

Wow.
"The move comes after Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California signed 40 climate bills on Sept. 16 to achieve statewide “carbon neutrality” by no later than 2045 by cracking down on oil drilling and accelerating carbon capture projects. California will also invest $54 billion to cut carbon emissions and develop “clean energy technologies,” according to the California Climate Commitment.
California will also ban the sale of all gas-powered cars after 2035 and is mulling a ban on medium and heavy trucks to fight a legacy of racist practices, according to a CARB report."
It's about time something was done about racist medium and heavy trucks. Thank you, CARB.

Election 2022. The tight races. K-12 Education is a top priority among Black males and Hispanic females. Take Stacy Abrams in the Georgia Gov’s race. In 2018, Kemp got 3% of the black vote. Currently she is losing 30% of the Black male vote (less likely to vote than Black females) and even Black female votes for a 13 point loss of that demographic, 10% down from 2018. Why? Yes, the economy and inflation comes in 1-2. Well, the Georgia Blacks consider good education for their kids is the hope for their future and desire for their children to have a better life than they have.
Nevada is currently the closest race with razor thin differences in polling. Yet, the momentum is swinging towards the Senate challenger, a R. Why? Hispanic women want better schools for their kids. Unlike many, they are more optimistic about their kids’ future and look to which party can deliver better schools.
You can parlay that across many Gov and Senate races (and even State House offices) and the Dems have not offered better public education solutions, improvements, nor school choice. The schools clamor for money with no meritocracy, accountability with fewer students.
Declining public school enrollments are not just a Blue State problem. Accounting for birth rates, immigration and emigration, and all the usual factors in the pipeline….accounting for all that the Red State and Blue States are seeing declining enrollments. Where did the students go? 7%, give or take, have been yanked by parents and are now being homeschooled or enrolled in private schools. Yes, even in Red States. That tells me that public education is a top priority for those with children across the board. It was the winning formula in Virginia’s Gov race.
Parental disgust and alarm with public education is a factor in 2022. Generally, R voters are more likely to have children than Dems, whether one likes it or not. When Stacy Abrams is losing some the most likely Dem supporters (educated black females), then that tells you something. Actions speak louder than words. Just my observation.

White House Midterm Plan: Deny Reality

Let’s not talk of Biden’s policies or Biden’s stances. Let’s talk about Republicans, lol.
‘Doocy EXPLODES After KJP Ducks His Abortion Question: ‘You Did NOT Answer My Question!’
“Continuing to stammer her way along, Doocy fact-checked her by noting Graham’s proposal is only for 15 weeks and not an outright ban.
Jean-Pierre continued to lie, claiming “it's a national ban, which will take us backwards and will put at risk the health of women” and would be the first step by “extreme Republican officials” in ending “privacy” and “contraception” and attacking “marriage” (as in gay and interracial marriages).
“I'm not going to get into specifics here. I’m just going to lay out what — what they have said that they’re going to do,” she hilariously added.
Doocy seized on that nonsense: “Why not get into specifics? The Republicans are saying we don't want abortion after 15 weeks. Why can't you say how many weeks the President thinks the limit is?”
Jean-Pierre again diverted by invoking House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and the House GOP’s Commitment to America, but Doocy wasn’t having it, saying he’s “not asking about Kevin McCarthy” and instead about “Joe Biden and his position on abortion.”
After being asked one last time “how many weeks,” Jean-Pierre filibustered with a meandering answer about Republicans “trying to take away the rights and freedoms of Americans.” Doocy tried to push back, but Jean-Pierre moved on to Bloomberg Government’s Courtney Rozen.
Doocy almost always complies when Jean-Pierre (or Jen Psaki) would move on, but not on this day as he exclaimed, “[y]ou did not answer my question”.

Mexico is cratering
‘The Border Crisis Is Just The Tip Of The Iceberg. In Mexico, A Cartel Crisis Looms’
“The rot in the Mexican state, the report makes clear, goes to the very top. In 2018, just before President Enrique Peña Nieto left office, Ivan Reyes Arzate, a high-ranking member in the Mexican Federal Police, was found guilty in U.S. federal court on charges of obstructing a Drug Enforcement Administration investigation of international drug trafficking and money laundering. The case “represented the first time a high-level foreign law enforcement officer was held criminally accountable in a U.S. courtroom for interfering with a transnational organized crime investigation,” according to the TPPF report.
But if Peña Nieto’s time in office was marked by a curtailment of U.S.-Mexico law enforcement cooperation, Mexico’s current president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has sought to shut down such cooperation almost entirely. Thanks to a new law pushed by López Obrador’s administration aimed at curbing the operations of foreign agents (clearly aimed at the DEA), decades of U.S.-Mexico bilateral cooperation has been effectively ended. In addition to this new law, López Obrador in April shut down an elite anti-narcotic unit that had worked with the DEA for 25 years.
Since taking office, López Obrador has pursued a posture of passivity toward the cartels, especially the Sinaloa Cartel, the country’s most powerful. In so doing, Mexico’s president has transformed his naïve campaign slogan, abrazos no balazos (“hugs not bullets”), into a policy framework that can only be understood as a rebuke of the United States in favor of the cartels.”

The economy. This has stuck for over a week now.
I am still gobsmacked (h/t to Gregory) what the Fed Ex Chairman said last week or so. Fex Ex is laying off employees and closing offices. Fed Ex? Fed Ex closing centers?
Fed Ex is one of those macro-economic indicator companies. They do not make anything, but deliver goods from a huge variety of businesses and manufactures. After revising its forecast ASAP, Fed Ex is telling us that the economy is in trouble. Think of all the companies that use Fed Ex and Fed Ex sees less business. If it was all their customers were switching to UPS or USPS, I could understand the revised down forecast.
Walmart has announced it is hiring 40,000 seasonal workers for the holidays. Sounds like a lot until you consider last year Wal Mart hired 150,000 seasonal employees.
The Fed is trying to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and affect a soft landing. There can be no soft landing with inflation unchecked. Maybe it will be a soft recession.
I happen to agree with this fellow. No pain, no gain. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

"ATLANTA (AP) — The tale of breached voting equipment in one of the country's most important political battleground states involves a bail bondsman, a prominent attorney tied to former President Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and a cast of characters from a rural county that rarely draws notice from outsiders.
How they all came together and what it could mean for the security of voting in the upcoming midterm elections are questions tangled up in a lawsuit and state investigations that have prompted calls to ditch the machines altogether.
Details of the unauthorized access of sensitive voting equipment in Coffee County, Georgia, became public last month when documents and emails revealed the involvement of high-profile Trump supporters. That's also when it caught the attention of an Atlanta-based prosecutor who is leading a separate investigation of Trump’s efforts to undo his loss in the state.
Since then, revelations about what happened in the county of 43,000 people have raised questions about whether the Dominion Voting Systems machines used in Georgia have been compromised.
The public disclosure of the breach began with a rambling phone call from an Atlanta-area bail bondsman to the head of an election security advocacy group involved in a long-running lawsuit targeting the state’s voting machines.
According to a recording filed in court earlier this year, the bail bondsman said he'd chartered a jet and was with a computer forensics team at the Coffee County elections office when they “imaged every hard drive of every piece of equipment.”
That happened on Jan. 7, 2021, a day after the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and two days after a runoff election in which Democrats swept both of Georgia’s U.S. Senate seats.
The trip to Coffee County, about 200 miles south of Atlanta, to copy data and software from elections equipment was directed by attorney Sidney Powell and other Trump allies, according to deposition testimony and documents produced in response to subpoenas.
Later that month, security camera footage shows, two men who have participated in efforts to question the results of the 2020 election in several states spent days going in and out of the Coffee County elections office.
The footage also shows local election and Republican Party officials welcoming the visitors and allowing them access to the election equipment. The video seems to contradict statements some of the officials made about their apparent involvement.
The new information has made Coffee County, where Trump won nearly 70% of the vote two years ago, a focal point of concerns over the security of voting machines. While there is no evidence of widespread problems with voting equipment in 2020, some Trump supporters have spread false information about machines and the election outcome.
Election security experts and activists fear state election officials haven't acted fast enough in the face of what they see as a real threat.
The copying of the software and its availability for download means potential bad actors could build exact copies of the Dominion system to test different types of attacks, said University of California, Berkeley computer scientist Philip Stark, an expert witness for the plaintiffs in the voting machines lawsuit.
“This is like bank robbers having an exact replica of the vault that they’re trying to break into,” he said."

The Dominion voting machines are not hooked up to the internet. So, how could one hack the machines? If not on the internet, how can one (like a bank robber) break into the machine? Interesting county case nonetheless. Coffee County? Love that name. Time will tell.

“Well folks, guess we’re going to do something now, that is uh … a reception,” he said to the team, who remained in position for the photo.
When the group reminded him that they had to take a few pictures first, Biden agreed but held his jersey folded up at his waist as the cameras clicked.
The president turned his head and began talking to the team as the cameras continued taking pictures, and then turned to leave again.
Photographers encouraged him to remain still, some reminding him to hold up his jersey for the pictures.
The president dutifully held up the jersey, but spotted a group of children in the audience, and encouraged them to come closer.
“Guys, c’mere,” he said. “Everyone under 15, c’mere. C’mon.”
He met briefly with some boys and turned to an older girl and beckoned.
“C’mon, honey,” he said, urging her to come over.
“I’ve got a daughter that’s two-team all-state, so c’mon,” he said.
He later knelt down on one knee to look at a young boy, pulled his arm to bring him closer, and pivoted him for a picture.
One of Biden’s staffers quietly approached the stage, motioning him to leave

But there are no Lefties gushing with goggled eyed wonder and adoration for this woman, no singing of platitudes, no praise reaching a crescendo pitch from the media. Rather that congratulations, we hear she is Mussolini incarnate.

“Not clear is why so many Republican voters are from the working class and the poor, those whom the party serves the least. Alongside a deeply anti-woman, anti-reproductive rights agenda, Republicans have also rejected funding to provide meals for school children, debt relief for graduates, and care for wounded veterans.”
Hold yer horses, sir. Debt relieve for graduates? You mean most people are against Biden’s plan that is not funded via taxes or other offsets? You mean the back ended ploy under the guise of COVID relief? You mean the scheme which is highly unpopular with the American public? You mean the smoke and mirrors that may be unconstitutional since Congress controls the spending? That debt relief for grads??? I thought Biden said the pandemic is O-V-E-R.

‘Facebook, Instagram CENSOR MRC, Apply Fact-Check to Post Critiquing Margaret Sanger’
“Planned Parenthood was started by Margaret Sanger who was a eugenicist,” he (Dr. Ben Carson) said. “She wanted to limit the numbers of black people and Hispanic people. That’s why the clinics are predominantly found in minority communities.”
Facebook and Instagram applied a PolitiFact fact-check to censor MRC and claim the post was “missing context.” The fact-check applied to the MRC post was from 2015, and was supposedly correcting an entirely different Ben Carson quote! Carson said in 2015 that Sanger “believed that people like me should be eliminated.”
Media Research Center president and founder Brent Bozell commented, “Planned Parenthood's founder was a vile racist who wanted to abort black babies. No fact check can change that.”
In fact, Sanger expressed explicitly racist views on eugenics and reportedly had ties both to Nazis and to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
Sanger published an article by the chief architect of the Nazi sterilization program, and, in 1938, urged America to imitate Hitler’s program, according to Breitbart News. Breitbart wrote that two close Sanger associates praised Nazi eugenics programs.
Sanger also reportedly started the “Negro Project” to limit the black population. She also declared that “minorities (including most of America’s immigrants) are inferior in the human race, as are the physically and mentally handicapped,” NewsBusters reported.
Discussing the “Negro Project,” Sanger wrote, “We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population,” according to a CNSNews.com commentary by Catholic League CEO Bill Donohue. According to a LifeNews report and another CNSNews.com commentary by Grove City College professor Dr. Paul Kengor, Sanger spoke at a 1926 KKK rally, which she boasted led to multiple other speaking invitations from white supremacist groups.

I will go out on a limb and predict that WY will stay in the Red column. This morning’s e-mail, while antidotal, gives me a wee bit of hope. News from the voting booth:
“Yesterday, Elaine and I voted (the first day of early voting in Wyoming).
I was surprised that in most of the choices, there was NO DEMOCRAT on the list.
I remembered from the news that in the State of Wyoming that if a party or candidate did not get 10% of the votes, they were no longer considered a major party. The news article voiced the concern that there may not be 10% of Democrats' votes for the top three slots.
So there was the choice of a Republican, or you could write in a name.
Not sure I have the reason correct, but it was surprising. Maybe you know the reason for this surprise. Elaine speculated they could not find any Democrats to run in this blessed state.
Rick in Wyoming.”

Patty Murray an’t looking so good. Damn. I remember when she was the Mom in Tennis Shoes that took WA State by storm….or at least the western part of WA. Patty Murray goes to Washington and it shows. Guess that makes me a woman hater along with the soon to be first female PM of Italy. No cover for the cover girl. (A line I once read concerning Melania Trump by Ammo Grrll.) What did she ever do to them? Anyway.
Too early to tout polls, despite the shift. I will say we won’t win every one of them by any means, put we sure are making them sweat. Oregon Gov is in sight, Hershel may take it, and there has been some tightening and within the margin of error, win or loose. Some close ones and am looking forward at all the fun we will have during the recounts. Shove their own words back down their throats. Let them eat grass.
Think the Dems have pulled money out of Iowa….after pouring money into Iowa. So, I will wait and see. The polling this year is gonna be way screwed up.
Best line I read somewhere this morning went something like (this concerning the R’s reluctance to talk to pollsters, or if they do, they lie through their teeth:
“The Republicans do not want to talk to us because if they do, they are afraid the FBI will take away their phones.”

About time before its too late. Dont say mom and dad really! -
"American security, and the safety of our families, rests on the shoulders of our men and women in uniform. Their training must never be corrupted to advance left-wing political goals. This matters. A woke military is a weak military," Pompeo, who was elected to Congress before serving as CIA director and America’s top diplomat during former President Trump’s administration, argued in a statement.
And he also charged that "unfortunately, woke and weak are exactly the policies that President Biden is pushing on our troops. That's why we must do everything we can to stop the spread of wokeness throughout our armed forces."
The website — which can be found at TroopsSpeakOut.com — allows veterans and active-duty service members "to shine a light on Biden’s woke polices."
Pompeo, in his ad, says, "Our military today is under assault from the radical left," and "If you’re a young kid sitting in a foxhole, you don’t give a darn about political correctness. If we focus on the wrong priorities, then Americans will be a lot less safe. We’ll use the right pronouns but what we won’t have is the capacity to keep our country safe."

20% of Americans failed to pay their utility bill last month.
In other news…..from a business perspective.
‘Larry Kudlow: Biden promised success and delivered failure’.
“Every time Mr. Biden goes out there and talks about "zero inflation" and a strong economy, he's begging the credulity of every American. Nobody believes him. Kitchen table prices are rising. Portfolios are falling. It's not a good combination.
Mr. Biden inherited a booming economy with virtually no inflation from Donald Trump and, in slightly more than a year, turned it into a busting recession with record inflation—in just over a year. That's not an easy thing to do and still, today, despite what financial markets are telling him, what typical families are telling him, what parents are telling him, what the border crisis is telling him, what the crime wave is telling him... he will not listen.
The radical progressive economic model has failed, dismally. Mr. Biden has committed the cardinal sin of politics. He promised success and delivered failure. If the big government socialist model was going to succeed, it would have already succeeded. But it hasn't and Americans are a very practical-minded, common-sense group. If something's not working, either fix it or throw it out.
That's what this eye-popping Washington Post/ABC News poll is telling us. In key swing districts across the country, Republicans have a 21% lead. That's right, 21%, and Kevin McCarthy's "Commitment to America" is emphasizing all of the key issues on voters’ minds: inflation, economy, crime and so forth.
I'm sure there will be lots of polls in the next month that don't agree with each other, but it looks to me like the GOP cavalry is closing fast and if they sweep Congress, it's possible there is a stock market bottom. Maybe. One can hope, but right now, the stock market is very annoyed at Joe Biden's progressive policies and because it doesn't seem that he reads the business pages, he is in danger of missing some big-time shock and awe coming right at him.
That's what stocks are telling him. That's what interest rates are telling him. That's what polls are telling him. The cavalry is coming. That's my riff.”

Gavin shot down again. Quite the record he is piling up. Informative article on the Supremacy Clause.
‘Ninth Circuit Rejects Gavin Newsom’s Effort to Send Migrant Detainees from California to Other States’
The Supremacy Clause does not bar all state laws from applying to private contractors with the federal government, but the Ninth Circuit found that AB32 clearly crossed the line: “AB 32 would give California the power to control ICE’s immigration detention operations in the state by preventing ICE from hiring the personnel of its choice . . . AB 32 would breach the core promise of the Supremacy Clause.” Much as Newsom may prefer to think otherwise, California does not have the right to nullify federal immigration law or dictate terms to the rest of the country. Nor does it have the right or the power to ask its neighbors to house migrants detained by the federal government.
https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/ninth-circuit-rejects-gavin-newsoms-effort-to-send-migrant-detainees-from-california-to-other-states/
Favorite lines:
“For example, the Supreme Court held more than a century ago, in Johnson v. Maryland (1920), that states cannot penalize postal workers from driving postal vehicles on duty without a state driver’s license; it has since applied the same rule to building contractors on federal projects. Even longer ago, in a case involving a former Chief Judge of the California Supreme Court who was gunned down by U.S. Marshals while assaulting a Supreme Court justice, the Court held that federal law enforcement officers cannot be criminally tried in state court for acting on duty.”

Trump really knows how to pick the, Check out this guy Doug Mastriano running for Governor of Pennsylvania who believes women should be charged with murder for having an abortion:
"Under his proposed legislation, Mastriano was asked whether a woman who decided to get an abortion at 10 weeks gestation would be charged with murder. Critics of the bill Mastriano backed, and of other "heartbeat bills," say the approximate six-week timeframe is often before many women know they are pregnant.
"OK, let’s go back to the basic question there," Mastriano said. "Is that a human being? Is that a little boy or girl? If it is, it deserves equal protection under the law."
Asked if he was saying yes, they should be charged with murder, Mastriano responded: "Yes, I am."
