The release and concurrent suppression of the Durham report confirms once more that we are way past any hope of rapprochement of America’s great divide. In short, our split is now permanent, all it awaits is for serendipity to finally resolve its form, structure, and shot heard round the world. At least two thirds of our electorate and almost all of our youth have no idea what America once was and how it became the bright shining city on the hill that still continues to beckon the unending millions from their shithole homelands.
Our dominant political party is the Democratic Party that is run by an amalgam of anti-American collectivists surrounded by the pre-educated and dismally ignorant. The country is now structured so its institutions of education, communication, and entertainment mutually support any set of lies that the Democratic Party wants to put forth as its reality du jour. Durham’s well documented report citing the established record of FBI corruption is already enshrouded in a limbo that makes it invisible to most Americans, even if they wished to show an interest. For all intents and purposes, the Durham findings will be erased within a few weeks (if that) from whatever collective memory that it has recently awakened.
What puts paid to this conclusion is the ineptitude of the Republican Party which has yet to demonstrate its ability to communicate with ‘the other half’. This political party has made itself so ineffective that it doesn’t matter how they perform at the polls, the party exhibits no sense that our government’s deep state is a morass of intertwined bureaucracies dedicated to expanding its own powers and feeding itself from the public trough.
Today the Right has the supportive testimony of tens of the nation’s top legal scholars who confirm the government’s fraudulent actions detailed by Durham. Names of people behaving criminally can be named and brought to account. But don’t hold your breath that the Republicans will take any such direct actions against those demonstrably culpable. All we can expect out of them is high sounding platitudes about how the Democrats violated the fundamental principles upon which our republic rests, principles unknown to the indifferent and uncaring millions.
[21may23 update] All the conservative and right leaning outlets are telling their audiences that the Durham report revealed so much dirt about how the FBI operates, that it has now “embarrassed” the agency and its leftwing proponents who touted the agency’s findings about the Russia conspiracy, Hillary’s email servers, and Hunter’s laptop, among other intentional misdeeds. Nothing could be further from reality.
As I pointed out in the above commentary – ‘Our dominant political party …’ – no such embarrassment is experienced by any of the agents who have supported FBI’s malfeasance of the last seven or so years. Instead, almost all of them continue to deny Durham’s findings as one big “nothing burger”, and many of them remain stalwart promoters of the original lies. This is blanketed daily to their audiences. They evince not a even a smidgen of shame about the record of their reportage, as they double down on their ongoing campaign of lies.
However, it is the conservative media, led by outlets like Fox News, Newsmax, et al, that are misleading their audiences to believe that the liars have now been exposed, shamed, or feel any embarrassment about what they reported and continue to report even today. Embarrassment can only be experienced by those who are contrite about their previous behavior. Unfortunately, such actors are missing in America.
There was not enough evidence to support any legal action. Durham tried for 4 years and found zilch. The FBI made plenty of mistakes, as they always have, and have said they have changed their policies because of what happened.
To try to make Democrats culpable somehow in your intro for Durham's failing is laughable, and sad.
Great Divide? Not really. Just highly politicized rhetoric, repeated over and over again to the Republican base, got some all wound up expecting a victory that was never to be.

Excellent point...I'm sure the bureau has taken this incident to heart and will make a sincere effort to ensure that it never, ever....pinky swear, ever happens again.

But to the non-Democrats, he did. A problem Durham ran into was that any criminal trial would have to be in DC where the potential jury pool is 99 44/100 partisan Democrat.

Probation.
For a law enforcement official deliberately altering evidence.
These are dirty cops.
The left waves this away.
Just like they did in the 60s.
Right?
Hey - the Fibbies have always been dirty. What the hell.
I know retired police officers and they have a different view of dirty cops and it isn't pretty.
But it's good that HP shows up here to give an honest view of what the American left think of corrupt police.
"Hey - as long as they target people we don't like, who cares if they are corrupt?"
Interesting.

Dunno what anyone is surprised about federal law enforcement. It's bound to always have a POV and is subject to take-over.
In a sense, 'law' is whatever you want it to be. The wiggle room is immense from the actual legislation, resulting regulations, or whether it's even enforced (ie: Soros-backed DA offices, election law).
I honestly think there's no point in George (or me) being upset. Politics is a code word for 'power' and I can't say that morality or existing rule sets have much to do with it. If a religious movement takes over a society, as we are seeing, you simply have to outwait it, invent your own religion to oppose it (kinetic or propaganda), or avoid it as possible. Depending on organizations subject to institutional capture seems silly to me.
The lack of organization on the 'Right' (whatever that really is, which is part of the problem) leads you to few options. Trump is one I guess. As a once-in-a-lifetime retail politician, he's uniquely suited to grab an office that allows him to fire absolutely everybody, assuming one House of Congress holds firm. If he ever became President again, my strong guess is that you'd see a putsch before the required housecleaning took place. The Fifth Estate (the US bureaucratic elite) has too much at stake to allow it.

Once again a post by "fish" who is now begging for help from RR's founder when in fact he is only once again admitting that he won't use his real name because it will be an embarrassment to his family and friends. It's really simple. if you have an opinion use your real name and be proud of it not embarrassed like fish is. This is especially true if you use this blog to question someones integrity like he does to me and won't do it in his real name. And yes, this goes to those of other political persuasions as well.
Years ago "fish" revealed his reason for using a fake name so what's so difficult in repeating those reasons? It was so long ago I don't recall what they were and newer readers did not see them. .

"A dem who thinks the CIA murdered his uncle would also clean house"
I would suggest that he stays away from convertibles.
---
"Keeping it together and not acting guilty until late January..."
The general impression I get is that any lapse in morality (or crime) is excused with the singular threat of Trump on the horizon. I figure that Sam Harris represents the general mode of thinking:
“I’ve said on several occasions that I think Donald Trump is a worse person than Osama bin Laden,”
“Trump is, without question, one of the least honest and most malignantly selfish human beings I have ever come across.”
"“We will get 4 more years of Trump if we actually give this a fair hearing”, referring to the bombshell “laptop from hell” belonging to Hunter Biden."
"Sam Harris then talks about Twitter shutting down the account of The New York Post and censoring the story, saying that people allege it was a Left Wing Conspiracy to deny Donald Trump the Presidency. He admits that it was “absolutely a conspiracy” but says that the conspiracy was “warranted”"
...so any scurrilous behavior is A-OK. Any whopper. You might as well do a bit of profit-taking while under the general papal indulgence of Trumphate.
Admittedly, another President Potato administration will put everyone into the clear, so there's bound to be a lot of self-interest involved. A great big grifting community of bureaucrats, professional politicians, non-profits, policy wonks, all beak-deep into the carcass. The most dominant will get their cut first, showing just why mysterious cattle mutilations always have the same bits removed.
It's a beautiful thing.

I keep hearing people bitching and whining about hopelessness and I don't get it. Are they just negatrons?
Must be.
We have never had a more free, secure, prosperous or safe time ever before in our history!
Americans are thriving! Everyone is so happy and satisfied.
Crime is almost null, neighbors are helpful, and communities are strong. The cities have never been more beautiful.
Nobody is sick, disabilty rates are almost zero, and people receive better care in US hospitals than in any other country. Pain is adequately treated with dignity and compassion.
We can trust doctors because the institutions that oversee medicine have our best interest at heart.
Laughter and joy are at an all time high. Friends and family rarely argue and divorce rates have plummeted.
Domestic violence and child abuse have been eradicated through education. Our mental health system is highly successful.
We all treat each other with respect, patience, and kindness. We agree with each other 100%
Drugs aren't killing anyone. Addiction is barely an issue in 2023.
The idea that something exists that is turning people into vaso-constricted zombies is absurd. Tranq addiction is fantasy.
Food and water are abundant and clean for all to enjoy.
The jobs market is booming--mostly due to American manufacturing and successful small business.
Vets are all housed, suicide is extremely rare, and the VA is treating people better than ever before.
Schools are churning out educated, conscientious, and inspired student. They are on their way to affordable colleges and excellent trade schools.
They will all own homes and enioy a bright, stress-free future.
War is an archaic concept. Our reasonable politicians have ensured peaceful, respectful, and effective relationships with all global leaders. Other countries respect us. They look to us as an example of human strength and ingenuity.
The music, movies, books, and art have never been better. People are creative and vibrant and impressive.
Most important, our seniors are cared for and revered. We appreciate their wisdom and strength and we reward it with support so they are all comfortable and worry-free.
We all live in unity in this great time of free-flowing information and inspiration.
The journalists are honest and well-intentioned. They care about integrity and truth. Television is good for neurodevelopment. It's wholesome. The internet is a place of truth, entertainment, and calm, loving interaction.
We are a strong nation and they are telling us so, so your conspiracy theories won't work on me.
