Last night CNN’s prerecorded 18-minute interview with Kamala Harris, with attendant training wheels Walz, was a giant nothing-burger – a disappointment but not a surprise. While Kamala was asked some decent questions, she predictably dodged all of them as did her partner in perfidy. What galled me the most was how she was allowed to bullshit her way out of the question about her manifold and desperate flip-flops on policies she championed in 2019 and her new ones with which she now apes Trump.
Her response to this line of questioning by Dana Bash was that “My values have not changed.” And I almost gagged when Bash allowed her to skate with that. Bash’s next question should immediately have been, ‘That may be, but the whole country has witnessed you doing 180s on your previously championed policies, and it will be your policies and not some ephemeral values that will impact the American people. On what new evidence did you base your policy pirouettes?’ – or something in that vein. Kamala’s lame answer again confirmed the low opinion that Democrats have of their loyal, yet demonstrably and reliably ignorant, constituencies who regularly swallow such answers with nary a qualm.
This brings me to my general complaint about the dismal state of today’s journalism that primarily includes the conservative media like Fox News. Starting with lead political anchor Bret Baier, none of them are either smart or quick enough to follow up Democrats’ stated allegations about Republicans, wrong-headed realities, etc with ‘Sir, you’ve just stated an unsubstantiated allegation to my question ‘On what did you base your claim that …?’. Please tell us again on what evidence do you base this and similar allegations you have made.’ Always ask for evidence when offered allegations.
Such a follow-up question will inevitably expose bullshit, and may even lead to a more productive discussion. Instead, our stalwarts of the Fourth Estate just calmly soldier on to their next question to receive a similarly dissembled response by the progressive pundit/politician being interviewed. And in the end, the interview has again turned into a non-interview in which the devious interviewee’s non-responses were not even exposed. We viewers (well, some of us) expect to receive such performances on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, … . But having to regularly consume them on outlets that attempt to champion the Right is downright nauseating.
I wouldn't breathe too much into this interview. There will be others.
Don't forget, Trump was a Democrat before he was a MAGA Republican.
RFK was a Democrat before he endorsed Trump.
People can change.

"I wouldn't breathe too much into this interview. There will be others."
The interview edited to 18 minutes with Democrats refusing to release a full transcript with prereleased questions by a captive newscritter with an emotional-support VP candidate?
lol. Yah, sure there will be. Make a note of it.
Meanwhile Trump, love him or hate him, talks without notes to scads of people for long periods of time. Some is BS, some is exaggeration, some is things he won't actually do, but there's a certain amount of transparency here.
Just admit it, everyone let the party allegiance fall for a sec. The Democratic Machine had a damaged candidate, replaced him with another damaged candidate for various reasons, is going to do whatever it takes to win. I expect they will. The Laptop Class running the country deserves to be ruled by these people...their children mutilated and taught sexual fetish in school, the 3rd World pouring in, Western Civilization denigrated and statues toppled, Pride Flags everywhere like some big Nuremberg Rally for men-in-dresses, money pouring from your enemies to your friends via insane tax law and clever grant writing, 100% off sale at burning strip malls.
A person smart enough to stay out of the way of the beast can have a helluva good time. It's like watching Godzilla smash Tokyo.

Eulo 1021am - Note that I do not denigrate her changing her mind (recall Lord Keynes famous answer), only that she can give no basis for such dramatic changes. And it's in the context of the bases for such changes that voters need to know and decide whether she is a clear and knowledgeable thinker or just another opportunistic wind-vane changing directions in political turbulence in her desperate attempt to get elected.

The Dems have their perfect candidate. Harris will do whatever she's told and unlike Biden, never had the intelligence or cunning to engage in corruption like Biden. She can't give any specifics of what her admin will do since no one has told her yet.
It all really doesn't matter. Our nation is headed for the collapse of the dollar no matter who wins. The 2 sides of the blob just argue how fast it will occur.

Scott is blind to the flip in the polls since Biden pulled out and Kamala stepped in and it's just begun. Trump is literally running for his life so he'll do anything th win. It's either he wins or it's off to the slam for him with around 90 felony charges filed against and him with around 35 charges already found guilty by the jury . That leaves around 50 still to go.

Not so fast @649 -
Elections analyst and FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver believes that former President and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is the slight favorite to defeat Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris this November going into Labor Day weekend and the home stretch of the campaign.
The model update suggests that Trump has a 52.4% chance of winning the Electoral College while Harris has a 47.3% chance of prevailing, making Trump the favorite in Silver’s model for the first time since August 3.
According to Silver, the “one big reason” for Trump’s advantage is Pennsylvania, which he identified as “the tipping-point state more than one-third of the time” in his model “and where it’s been quite a while since we’ve seen a poll showing Harris leading (including two new polls today).”

Bill Maher Mocks CNN for Harris-Walz Interview: “They Wonder Why the Kids Get Their News From TikTok”
https://currently.att.yahoo.com/entertainment/bill-maher-mocks-cnn-harris-034807111.html
New York Post
Off-script Kamala blows it in the swing states
Harris especially hurt herself in the places it matters most: Those key swing states.
A flip and a flop
Take Harris’s answer on her flip-flopping on a myriad of issues: “Dana, I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris replied.
“You mentioned the Green New Deal. I have always believed, and I’ve worked on it, that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time.”
And if Harris believes the “climate crisis” is real and her values haven’t changed, then shouldn’t we believe the 2019 version of Kamala Harris when she declared she would absolutely ban fracking, end the fossil fuel industry and end all offshore drilling?
If you’re a Pennsylvania voter, how do you feel about that?
Speaking of fracking, Harris also referenced a 2020 debate where she claims she said that she supported fracking.
One problem: She dropped out of the race before she got to 2020, so she must be talking about her October 2020 debate with then-Vice President Mike Pence.
A review of that transcript, however, shows no such statement being made.
In other words, she knowingly lied.
By the way, Harris’ sticking to her values also means she’s all for electric vehicle mandates (not popular in Michigan), abolishing ICE (not popular in Arizona), banning private health insurance, supports mandatory gun buy-back programs and supports sanctuary cities, while providing free healthcare for illegal immigrants (not popular anywhere except San Francisco).
As for a press conference with questions from all sides?
No chance before Nov. 5.
Luckily for voters, when that debate happens between Trump and Harris, Kamala will also have to go much, much longer toe-to-toe with Trump than the 18 minutes she gave to CNN last night.
That debate is scheduled for 90 minutes.
No cheat sheets allowed.
And again, no teleprompter.
Because, as we just witnessed, Kamala Harris without a script becomes a human Chernobyl.

“And I think it would be to the benefit of the American public to have a member of my Cabinet who was a Republican.”
Oh well, that's just the nature of politics. She's fishing for a few votes in a few areas just like any sane person would do.
You get to look moderate, which she and her child mutilatin' VP choice most certainly are not, but also bribe some ambitious Republican to come help you somehow. Liz Cheney comes to mind. Those Cheneys really are something, it would be to the benefit of the American public if they just stayed home.
It's funny to me how the blow-up-the-world US foreign policy establishment just up and moved over to Team Blue. Two lessons here. (1)The neocons were never bound to old-school 'murican virtues and (2)The Democrats are fine with bombing the 3rd World in an endless game of Risk. Bill Maher: "The CA lawmakers giving government assistance to undocumented immigrants to buy houses.
That's kind of a different place than the Democrat party used to be on immigration, is it not?"
Nancy Pelosi: "Immigration had always been a bipartisan always."
Maher: "Not free houses."
Pelosi: "It's not free houses, it's the American dream being available to more people."
Maher: "This is for the undocumented."
Pelosi: "I would like to move them to documented."
The open border policies of the Biden Harris administration were not a bug, but a feature of their system to convert illegals into votes."

He turns that into 34 felony charges on a legal theory that was never explained to the jury, and then basically, Trump is convicted in a sham trial by a hyper-partisan New York jury system.
I don't think it's rule of law if Trump is prosecuted on a documents charge that Biden himself is guilty of. He's got all these documents in his garage for decades."

Compare it to when Biden was running and you'll see how much Harris has improved in the polling. She will surely win the election.I'm not worried.
As always you're rooting for Trump Gregory.

Actually Gregory if you count all the polls listed by RCP you'll find it's Harris 16 Trump 4 with a couple of ties.. You either lied or you can't count.

What you wrote was wrong, Punch. Sorry. Not rooting for Trump, just truth, justice and the American way.
Not interested in all the polls. Just the battleground states.
Yes, Harris is doing better than she was. Some think she's maxed out and hitting her limits. Time will tell.
In the meantime... you agree that her being ahead in 3 of seven battleground states is less than your claim of "Harris is ahead in practically all swing states"?
Three of seven isn't "practically all" even in your book.

Cant win without the independents -
The results, however, are even more stark among independents. By a 12-point margin, independents say they prefer Trump to be president rather than Harris.
Nearly half, 49 percent, said they would prefer Trump over Harris as president, while just 37 percent said they would prefer Harris.

“Kamala, we have been treated with the utmost respect, compassion, and understanding by President Trump, something you and Joe Biden have refused to do since August 26, 2021,” Hoover said in his video. “Where were you and Joe Biden on August 26, 2024? Nowhere near Arlington Cemetery. You couldn’t be bothered to be with us or even say our kid’s names, just as you had done for the last three years. Neither one of you have called to speak with us or share in our grief. I wonder Kamala, do you sleep at night securely in your bed or do you have nightmares of our kids because it was your incompetence and negligence that got our kids murdered? It is you who sent out messages on social media that are outright lies. It is you that has disrespected our families. It is you who knows nothing about service and sacrifice. It is you that has divided this country. And, it is you who is unfit to be the commander-in-chief. These are the only memories we get to make with our son. And, it is you who is playing politics and trying to detract from our memories made that day.”

On Friday, billionaire Dallas Mavericks minority owner and hardcore left-winger Mark Cuban pushed out a poll to his 8.8 million followers in an effort to attack Donald Trump. But it seems likely he didn’t expect the outcome he got.
He gave his followers the choice of “Donald Trump” and “Kamala Harris.”
Actor Nick Searcy quickly jumped onto the basketball billionaire’s X post and presciently predicted that the poll would not go how Cuban hoped.
Unfortunately for Cuban, a Harris supporter, Donald Trump won this poll, and not by just a little, either. Trump’s lead was double that of Harris.

WE WON'T LET HIM"
- Kamala Harris on X
I admit that it's pithier than saying:
"KAMALA HARRIS VOWS TO PUT ALL WHITE MEN IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND GAS THEM.
WE WON'T LET HER"
Political messaging is funny stuff, it's always worked. Gotta get them peasants riled up.
I was musing about how broadcast media and 'scientific' salesmanship have allowed strange things to happen. Modern politicians are poor orators, poor writers, poor leaders, although it could be that Trump is a natural. There is no way in the world that George Bush II, Obama, probably Trump, would have made it in the 19th C. Kamala Harris would have been a prototypical fishwife.
It's the age of unlettered, gracile 'leaders'.

So the slide begins for the hyena -
Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign is going on defense as former President Donald Trump gains steam in blue states after Harris’s failure to achieve a post-convention bump, which most modern campaigns take for granted.
The campaign is sending Harris and her top surrogates — ticket mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and husband Doug Emhoff — to blue states after a weekend of planned swing state visits.
On Wednesday, Harris will reportedly visit New Hampshire — where she enjoyed only a four-point advantage, according to an Emerson College/WHDH survey before the convention — for a campaign event yet to be announced. Walz will be in his home state of Minnesota, where Trump has cut Harris’s lead from ten to only five points since Walz joined the ticket, according to two KTSP/SurveyUSA polls. Emhoff will reportedly cross the Potomac River for a fundraising trip in Virginia, another state where Trump has polled unexpectedly strong in the 2024 cycle.
An occasional detour during the usual long campaign season is not irregular. However, these trips are noteworthy for a nascent campaign only cobbled together after President Joe Biden’s implosion that must make every day count with barely two months before Election Day.
The blue state visits follow a weekend of planned swing state visits and, before that, a multi-day joint Harris-Walz romp through Georgia that left many pundits scratching their heads.
The unconventional scheduling is on the heels of a terrible week, highlighted by the campaign’s trashing of 13 Gold Star families — an attack that blew up spectacularly in the campaign’s face.

Trump also declined to express regret for the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol. He called Jan. 6, 2021, a "beautiful day" and said the crowd he spoke to before the attack "were there with love in their heart."

They were convicted of a crime that involved breaking into the Capital and illegally entering and disrupting a legislative process causing elected representatives to run to safety. Did you se the footage of them smashing in the doors that were being secured by the police? They have the right to appeal but a Presidential pardon?
