[The administration’s sleazebag liars and their media minions are promoting their Big Lie du jour by claiming that under Bumblebrain’s watch grocery prices have decreased. In reality nothing could be further from the truth; grocery prices have risen markedly under Biden, they continue to grow, but today at a slightly lower rate. The Democrats know that their lightly read voters aren’t bright enough to pick up the difference between inflation levels and inflation rates, easily confusing the two. The lamestream media moguls, of course, will just repeat White House lies, never clarifying anything that may jeopardize reliable votes for leftwing causes and politicians. gjr]

So Gregory you are saying you don't believe that:
"those that entered the Capital and had to step over smashed in doors and windows did nothing wrong or illegal and deserve pardons."
If that's true then accept my apology and thanks for joining those of us that oppose Trumps desire to offer pardons to those who did so.

Gregory, the fake Libertarian can't even answer a simple question. It is consistent that he would support Trump in this matter since he always supports him on this blog. Amazing that the Republicans picked Trump again to run for President after him being such a loser. It was indeed Trump that said this about the Jan 6 rioters:
""We'll be looking very, very seriously at full pardons," Trump told an interviewer in 2022. "I mean full pardons with an apology to many."
"LET THE JANUARY 6 PRISONERS GO," Trump posted on his social media site, Truth Social, in March 2023.
Later that year, Trump reposted a Truth Social post stating, "The cops should be charged and the protesters should be freed.""

In other words, the 'blue' states are providing benefits (welfare) to the 'red' states.

"But a hypocritical MAGA Will vote against an infrastructure bill, but stand in front of a bridge in their district that was built with Blue State money and want to take credit for it."
Too bad you can't give an example.
Fed govt "funds" can come from sources other than income tax. For example - hwy money from the feds usually is not from income tax at all - it comes from the good old Fed Excise Tax. But that money that is allotted back to Idaho gets counted by leftists as if it came from income tax.
Also consider that in states like Idaho the feds "send" a lot of money to our state because the feds own the majority of Idaho. 62% of the land in Idaho is actually fed govt land and the feds have to spend money on their own land but it's counted as if the money is being handed to Idaho citizens. Also money is sent to Idaho to compensate for the loss of the tax base of that land. The feds "took" millions of dollars in value from Idaho and have to partially compensate for that. That isn't included in these nonsense studies trying to show the red states are not paying their way.
It is laughable to hear leftys complain that the feds spend too much on red states. If you don't like it, cut all of the states off and see who complains the loudest.

Oh well, it's just one of those data-mined factoids that people who have never done a productive thing in their lives will dredge up when there's not much else to tease the Nazis with.
It would be interesting to look into cash flow based on something real. Things like GDP strike me as so much BS and with increasingly automated agriculture and offshoring of industry, being useful seems thin on the ground. You end up with a nation of welfare recipients (of various types, including a goodly chunk of Medicare), paper pushers, DEI Karen admins, various other sorts of useless gubmint and school seat warmers, and fortunes made from middle-man web businesses and surveillance advertising.
Heck, it seems to me that Nevada County isn't a bad example. Mining and timber and locally owned useful retail, followed by light manufacturing of technology products, followed by real estate agents and a few gift stores selling Chinese-made dreck to a few tourists. Naturally, the money is all in gubmint, old person healthcare, and non-profits. Luckily, Leonard Cohen tribute concerts can keep the dream alive.
I guess a good question is just how long a place can auger in.

"Gov. Tim Walz speaking to people calling into Lancaster County Democratic Committee field office. His daughter Hope is with him. Spoke to supporters here for about 6 or 7 minutes. Walz is not taking questions from the media while here. We were also not allowed to put microphones up by Gov. Walz while he was speaking," Kratz wrote.

"“Faith to me is believing in the unseen and having a conviction that there is a higher power that has given me a purpose to what I am doing on this earth. For me, that is the foundation to how I live my life and how I want to see the world through that lens,” he added."
Sadly - this is what passes as Christianity these days. Just a bunch of word salad. And he's for abortion on demand at any stage of pregnancy.
"And understanding, like, we need to be in a position where, women have the right to choose what’s right for them. And that’s at the top of the list for me.”
Not humans, but just women. Men don't have this strange "right". Apparently if his wife wants to have an affair, it's cool with this cuck because she has a "right" to do whatever is "right" for her. Pretty damn sad.
The scriptures according to St Steph:
"But, my favorite scripture says that all things get worked together for the good, and those called according to His purposes and praise Jesus. It all worked out. There’s Stephen, and look what he’s doing, and it’s just amazing to me."

'I guess he meant "we have too many of the wrong kind of prisoners".'
It's funny how that's always a side effect of increasingly authoritarian governments. It's an oddly modern concept that looks to date from the late 19th C. which the Communists in Russia seemed to perfect.
1) There is a 'correct' way to think which, most importantly, is enforced by force of arms by the government.
2) It's somewhat arbitrary in how it's applied. The Black Maria can come for anybody.
3) Prisons are not only enlarged to fit their new tenants, but the political prisoners are highly outranked by criminals by both inmates and administration. The criminals are used to enforce 'good enough' order.
With the difference in treatment between Jan 6 protestors and Portland firebombers, you can see how it's going down here, but Blighty is ahead of the curve.
A person might not like Trump, Musk, Kennedy, but there sure aren't many people at that level who are opposing what has turned in a peculiar mix of neocon war machine, surveillance businesses, and mentally-ill people with a tendency towards sexual fetish. The real knowledge (I think) will come from understanding the simultaneous spread through Europe, US/Canada, Australia/New Zealand. Mass movements have their own logic.

Being unlikable and inauthentic has a cost -
Vice President Kamala Harris is running behind President Biden’s 2020 numbers among several demographic groups, a gap that could loom large in what increasingly appears to be a razor's-edge election.
"Harris is significantly underperforming Biden, according to most polls, with Black voters, Hispanic voters, working class voters, and young voters," Democratic strategist Julian Epstein told Fox News Digital.
The comments come as an analysis of polling data released by the Wall Street Journal this week showed Harris still struggling with key demographics that have been critical to Democratic success in national elections. Although the vice president has made up ground on Biden’s numbers when he decided to drop out of the race, she has still failed to meet the president’s 2020 performance.
Meanwhile, Trump has continued to make inroads with minority communities that have previously been difficult for Republicans to appeal to. The former President now has the support of 20% of black men, the Wall Street Journal analysis found, and only trails Harris by one point among Latino men, 48% to 47%.

Food price whiners and complainers, note the dairy and fruits and vegetable prices have decreased. Chart below.
MAGAz are desperately trying to find some sort of talking points to attack Harris with.
'I remember when you could buy a loaf of bread for a nickel'
"The retail price of a loaf of bread in the United States took a dramatic jump just prior to the start of the year in 1916. The average price of bread was 5 cents per loaf based on a survey of 210 brands. By May of 1916 the price per loaf of all but 14 of those brands had jumped to an outrageous 6 cents per loaf and by September of that year was selling for 7 cents per loaf. The wheat embargo on the U.S. and the war in Europe was beginning to have a cost to the American consumer."

"Wow - these Democrats have messed up our state for decades - next time I'm voting for a different Democrat!"
Reminds me of former KGO radio (back when KGO was still relevant) host Ronn Owens who would agonize over the ballot every year but in the end vote the straight ticket.

Yes, they say lots of things, Jeff.
Blaming Republicans for losing elections in the state is a unique Blame the Victim tactic, with half of the state budget being spent by Democrats in K-12 alone.
BTW hillbilly, you can't get those nickels anymore. The price is the same, the currency is debased.

People know full well that she has been in power for years advancing the socialist agenda and comrade bernie going on face the nation today saying she is just flip flopping to win and is still a good progressive. What ever that is -
Also working against Harris is the voters' preference for change, with 60% indicating they would like to see a major change from the policies of Biden. Only 25% of respondents said Harris would represent that kind of change, while 53% believe that Trump would.

Talk about outing herself as a socialist stooge -
The Trump campaign slammed reports that Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign told Arab American leaders in Detroit that if she’s elected on Nov. 5, she would likely name left-wing Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison as the U.S.’ top cop.
"Keith Ellison would be a natural fit in a Kamala Harris administration. Both are radical liberals who support ending cash bail and releasing violent criminals into American neighborhoods. The good news for the American people is that it’s never going to happen, because President Trump is going to win on November 5," Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Digital.

Too dumb to listen and blood on their hands -
The Republican-led report opens by harkening back to President Joe Biden’s urgency to withdraw from the Vietnam War as a senator in the 1970s. That, along with the Afghanistan withdrawal, demonstrates a "pattern of callous foreign policy positions and readiness to abandon strategic partners," according to the report.
The report also disputed Biden's assertion that his hands were tied to the Doha agreement former President Trump had made with the Taliban establishing a deadline for U.S. withdrawal for the summer of 2021, and it revealed how state officials had no plan for getting Americans and allies out while there were still troops there to protect them.
The report found that Biden and Vice President Harris were advised by top leaders that the Taliban were already in violation of the conditions of the Doha agreement and, therefore, the U.S. was not obligated to leave.
The committee also found NATO allies had expressed their vehement opposition to the U.S. decision to withdraw. The British Chief of the Defense staff warned that "withdrawal under these circumstances would be perceived as a strategic victory for the Taliban."
When Trump left office, some 2,500 U.S. troops remained in Afghanistan. Biden himself was determined to draw that number to zero no matter what, according to Col. Seth Krummrich, chief of staff for Special Operations Command, who told the committee, "The president decided we’re going to leave, and he’s not listening to anybody."

From the Guardian - Robert Reich (prof at CalBerk. He is a Guardian US columnist.) demonstrates authoritarian ire at Elon Musk. I don't think the Dems like African-Americans.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/aug/30/elon-musk-wealth-power
Some of Reich's desires:
"3. Regulators around the world should threaten Musk with arrest if he doesn’t stop disseminating lies and hate on X.
4. In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission should demand that Musk take down lies that are likely to endanger individuals – and if he does not, sue him under Section Five of the FTC Act.
5. The US government – and we taxpayers – have additional power over Musk, if we’re willing to use it. The US should terminate its contracts with him, starting with Musk’s SpaceX."
Looks like the 1st amendment is not part of the "dangerous to democracy" party.

Literally more of the same -
Shortly after Kamala Harris released her policy agenda on Sunday evening, users on X spotted something in the metadata: Much of the language appears to have been lifted from Joe Biden’s campaign website.
On Sunday night, X user Corinne Green pointed out that the issues section of Harris’s website contained metadata with language urging voters to reelect Joe Biden. This language was visible when links to the campaign site were shared, and in the website’s description on Google searches.

Senior Fox analyst Brit Hume take on the debate
"Make no mistake about it. Trump had a bad night."
"Vice President Harris was clearly well-prepared, practiced, on the offensive much of the night," anchor Bret Baier noted. "Former President Trump did take a lot of the bait that she threw out."
Posted by: Paul Emery | 10 September 2024 at 08:49 PM
So I see Harris "won" by lying. Paul Emery likes politicians that lie. He's often spoken highly of them.
"Harris referred to a “Trump sales tax” and claimed it would add 20 percent to the cost of goods."
But of course Trump has never proposed any such thing.
Meanwhile our nation is sinking in debt and no one wants to talk about it.
Swell.
Posted by: Scott O | 10 September 2024 at 09:37 PM
"When asked if Americans are better off today than they were four years ago, Harris completely dodged the question, instead beginning with this line: “So, I was raised as a middle-class kid, and I am actually the only person on this stage who has a plan that is about lifting up the middle class and working people of America.”
More lying - I can see why Paul thought she won.

An impartial analysis of last nights ....ahem....affair.
Who lost? The American people.
Harris didn't answer anything. She took questions and then immediately pivoted to going after Trump, throwing chum in the water. Trump, for his part, hit the hook in the chum and thus negated his capacity to point out actual policy -- and that she had evaded and didn't answer the question.
The moderators were wildly biased and failed to enforce the rules, specifically related to any sort of containment of the two of them going back and forth and the alleged muting of the mics.
None of what Harris proposed she had a way to pay for. Zero. $25,000 for a house sounds nice, but it will simply make the price of houses go up -- by $25,000. The problem isn't down payments its that prices are too high. You can't wish supply into existence which means dealing with demand is the only option. How do you deal with demand? Well I can tell you what you don't do: Put 10,000 new people you fly into the United States into a town of 60,000 all of whom have $1,000 a month government checks and will live 10 to an apartment, which is what's happening in Ohio and elsewhere! All that does is force the existing residents out because they can't afford that escalation in cost -- and thus makes the problem worse.
Did Trump key up on this? No, and if he had he could have mopped the floor with Harris since that is explicitly her position that these Haitians are "good" and in fact she supported bringing 100,000 of them in directly, in her own words. Leave the cat situation alone because you don't have to go there -- you can win on pure economics and its irrefutable.
Trump was right about foreign policy; nobody attacked anyone when he was President. When Biden and Harris came into office both the Ukraine and Israeli conflicts occurred. These are facts and may I remind you that Reagan, for all of his flaws, did get "caught" on an open mic during a mic check saying "I've just signed legislation to eliminate the USSR; the bombing starts in 10 minutes." No, it wasn't policy but if you think the Kremlin didn't know about that within 30 seconds you're not very smart and like it or not there is real value in Foreign Policy with having the other guys out there who have designs on things you don't want to happen wondering if you might be just crazy enough to push the button. There's an art to that; you never want them to be convinced you're nuts because then they have to shoot but at the same time the last thing you want is for them to believe you'll send money, guns, ammunition and planes in drips and drabs to someone fighting but under no circumstances will you personally blow them up.
That, by the way, is why we have two wars going on right now that we're funding and arming. Both sides of both conflicts are utterly convinced we will not come and blow anyone up -- while at the same time we keep demonstrating that perhaps we can't even if we changed our mind to the degree we've put forward through bravado for oh so long (and not without cause, until the last 20 or so years.) May I remind you that we can't even manage to build a pier that will withstand utterly common weather conditions to offload supplies anymore -- and we proved it at Gaza.
There was much more but this was more than enough.
We had two unserious people on stage and a pair of "moderators" who weren't.
I could spend an hour or more on a 20 page analysis but honestly its not worth the digital ink to do so.

Paul 7:28 - No Paul, I don't "ignore" the debt.
Trump did not get us 8 trillion in debt. The country did. It decided to hide under the bed and print money. There was that China Flu - remember?
The Biden/Harris admin is running up a worse tab and that's with the "greatest economy ever".
Actual number during Trump's term was 7.8T.
When Biden took office the natl debt was 27.5T
https://www.thebalancemoney.com/national-debt-by-year-compared-to-gdp-and-major-events-3306287
Now look at the debt:
https://www.usdebtclock.org/
Do the math.
It's going to get worse and worse no matter who is in office because "our democracy" has decided to live on debt and hope they die before the bill comes due.
The Dems will run it up faster than the Rs but we'll get to the end of the rope eventually.
It works great until it doesn't.
