George Rebane
While our revamped president organizes a major government cleanup at the federal level, we in California will be immune to the resulting Trump-induced benefits. Moreover, led by the peak pinhead himself, the Sacramento mental midgets will do their best to make our lives more costly and miserable than ever. All of this continues to be brought about by California’s electorate – the most unread, indolent, and ignorant population of voters in the nation. The ongoing legal and illegal increase in their numbers is driving out the productive Californians who seek more enlightened pastures in which they can raise their families and start/operate their businesses.
Latest additions to the list of loonies -
- California’s fuel prices are already the nation’s highest. That makes no never mind to the leftwing global warmers who will increase our cost of fuels to new record setting and business killing levels. (more here).
- Newsom is marshalling his lackeys to quickly pass legislation that will fund legions of lawyers to enable California to oppose federal reforms and to “Trump proof” the state. He is planning to call a special legislative session to accomplish this fiasco.
- Passing SB 1383 is another law that will assuage the climate calamitists and do nothing to impact global warming. But it will increase the cost of waste disposal across the state and require citizens to perform additional work to prepare their trash for pick-up. “This law requires cities and counties to provide organic waste collection services to residents and businesses. It also requires residents, businesses, and multifamily complexes to separate organic waste from trash and recycle it in a separate cart. The law aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and slow climate change.” This latest pain-in-the-ass starts on 1 January 2025.
- No unity, more polarization. Yes, we will now be more polarized than ever as envisioned by Kamala in her ‘defeat speech’ wherein she vowed that her neo-Marxist dream will continue to be pursued at cross-purposes to the Trump policies that won the popular vote. As another polarizing burr under the blanket, the Dems will still attempt to claw back presidential immunity. (more here and here) Fat chance with a Repub Congress, but the touted ongoing search for the already non-existent common ground is guaranteed a snowball’s chance in hell.
- Dems have no clue about what happened on 5 November 2024; Kamala vows to keep promoting the policies that the nation rejected and that cost her the election. I doubt that she will have much to say about anything after Congress certifies the electoral vote in early January.
"It also requires residents, businesses, and multifamily complexes to separate organic waste from trash and recycle it in a separate cart"
It's a small issue, but absolutely no one is going to do that. For household garbage, it's an absolutely insane law, but then look at the people who pass laws.
It might be a way to get a cool plastic container for free though, so bring it on.

I'd just like to say thanks Gavin. Thanks for not "reading the room" and always rerunning the last election. This pretty much guarantees that he's politically irrelevant before he can Peter Principle any higher up the ladder.

It's too bad MAGAns include a majority of non-college educated workers, because they think could care less about the national debt, but it's partly responsible for the economic situation that they are in.
Looks like Trump still holds the record for running up the national debt. Will he be able to beat his own record?

I like this debt-concern.
Maybe all the men-in-dresses can start marching for balancing the budget. People with black hoods, black clothing, black umbrellas can firebomb the courthouse in a last-ditch attempt to shrink the government. I mean, they are anarchists after all.
The local hippies can really dig into this debt reduction concept. Leonard Cohen XII can be a fund raiser to fire up reductions in county headcount and cutting a bit of fat off the welfare system.
I'll watch. Let 'er rip boys!
lol. Seriously, the trash talk going forward is going to be pretty darned weak.

The best part is that they will not listen and learn any lessons, just double down on wokecrap -
He concluded, “The final error, identity politics on the left, which made it push for all kinds of DEI policies that largely came out of the urban academic bubble, but alienated many mainstream voters. There is an irony in claiming to be pro-Latino by insisting that people use the term LatinX when Latinos themselves think the word is weird. This kind of obsession may Democrats view people too much through their ethnic or racial or gender identity and made them miss that working-class Latinos were moving toward Trump, perhaps, because they were socially conservative or liked his macho rhetoric or even agreed with his hard-line stance on immigration. One of Trump’s most effective as on trans issues had a tagline, ‘Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you.’ The problem is deeper than one about nouns and pronouns. The entire focus on identity has morphed into something deeply illiberal, judging people by the color of their skin rather than the content of their character. Similarly, universities with cancel culture and speech codes have become the way they censor the most cherished of liberal ideas, freedom of speech. One simple way to think about the lessons of this election is that liberals cannot achieve liberal goals, however virtuous by illiberal means.”

resurfaced hillbilly - "Looks like Trump still holds the record for running up the national debt."
Only because Biden hasn't finished his term - then Biden will hold the record. But it's far worse than that. For 2 years of Trump's term our nation decided to hide under the bed, stop producing value, and just print money. Biden ran the debt up during the "bestest economy ever - EVER!"
But I see the Dems are going full "states rights" and suddenly discovering our nation has a problem with debt. Hilarious!
There's a shit-ton of college brain-washed leftys that totally go for the modern monetary theory, so please don't talk down to folks that don't have a degree - they have to balance the books every month at businesses they run or balance the check book at home.
The smarty-pants in DC could try doing that sometime.
Anyway - a lefty talking about the national debt is a pretty funny joke all in its own. Could have sworn it was just an ultra-right-wing fabricated 'talking point' a few seconds ago. The really funny thing would be the hillbilly trying to explain to us why the debt is so high. Maybe Hillbilly could go back and actually read a few posts on this blog from years ago right up til today and notice he is waaaay late to the party.
Keep posting, Hillbilly - you're endless amusement.

“When was the last time a party gained in so many different places?” ... “You have to go all the way to back to 1992 when Bill Clinton improved on Michael Dukakis’ performance in 49 states, plus the District of Columbia.”
“Donald Trump’s performance on Tuesday was the best for a Republican presidential candidate in exit poll history,” ... “He literally goes all the way back through history and breaks history.”

"there goes Psul's fav line about Trump being the biggest political loser."
There'll be something new.
He'll toddle out on stage, sweating and adjusting his tie like Rodney Dangerfield, with some new tagline.
DIDJA HEAR ABOUT THE TIME THAT TRUMP WANTED TO GIVE EVERYONE A BLEACH ENEMA? HE TRIED IT HIMSELF AND THEY HAD TO BURY HIM IN A SHOE BOX!!

Maybe the thing to do is use them for sigs.

Here's my opinion Walt since you asked for it. AS I've stated several times before Trump is the biggest political loser since before 1900.

It would have been an easy win for Biden or whomever to run against the biggest political loser in modern history-probably back to the 1880's- but Trump will likely be indicted on multiple felonies by the end of the week.
