The progressive left does not need to do any sabotage of Trump's agenda when 3/4 of Republicans in the Senate are Never Trump RINO's who will do it for them, and who just replaced their current leader McConnell with his moral equivalent. Example: what do you think are the chances that Gaetz will get confirmed as AG? Less than the proverbial snowball's?

Reality bites the religion of global warming -
What’s collapsing here—aside from a German coalition—is the political method of net zero. That method, devised by activists and evangelized by political, business and media converts, was to shift the issue out of the political realm and into an otherworldly space where stopping climate change became a religious mission for moral redemption. But governments deliver budgets, not salvation. And when it comes to budgets, politics always wins.

Paul - "Nevada County votes solid blue for President"
"solid blue" - that would be every single vote was for Harris. Paul clearly has not mastered a basic grasp of the English language. But if holding on to that one last little bit of fantasy keeps him from jumping in front of a semi on 49, then God bless.

I'll save a deep dive long enough for Adona to get some votes actually counted but for now, 46.0% Trumpish and 52.6% Harris isn't a landslide.
That's Purple. Barely a win for the Dem side.

I don't expect much. Just a batch of posturing by harridans like Senator Karen and spittle-flying from Joy Reid, Cenk Uygur, and the local activist retirees
As usual, the main thrust will be examining all Trump nominees down to their behavior in kindergarten. The bureaucracy won't like any of them, so the full force of The State will be applied on this effort. The thing is, the only people who can change things are people disliked by gatekeepers, it's unavoidable.
Assuming that the tide has turned and a certain amount of sanity is prevailing (and that we aren't all speaking Chinese in 50 years), you do have to wonder what the history books of the future will show. Obama will be known only for his race (or half of it). The Bushes will become Jeopardy questions along with Coolidge. The last administration will be personified by a cross-dressing luggage-stealing lunatic as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Office of Nuclear Energy since his pictures are so damn funny.
In the meantime, the insane people will do their best to get RFKJr replaced by Maggie De Block since she more resembles them.

I figure that the outrage-of-the-day will know come from local governments (and state in the case of California).
Since school boards, urban district attorneys, elections offices tend to be run by left-wing activists, a genius move on their party, you'll see a bunch of skirmishes like this break out:
"Members of the Durango School District 9-R Board of Education on Tuesday indicated support for the drafting of a resolution that would back the display of the progress pride flag and the Black Lives Matter flag.
Such a resolution, if adopted, could allow Durango schools to display those symbols without opening the door to all political speech in schools or running afoul of constitutional protections of the right to free speech, was the general consensus of some board members."
https://www.durangoherald.com/articles/durango-school-board-may-consider-action-to-sanction-certain-flags
If you really want to dump the insane people, it'll take years of local politickin'. To be fair, the local communities probably deserve the city councils they have.

"To be fair, the local communities probably deserve the city councils they have."
The problem in CA is if a local city or school district tries to become sane, the state lads quickly act to put the kibosh on it. See: Huntington Beach for voter ID. And there was some dustup at a school district - Temecula? And it was put in its place pronto.
But, yes - even in red Texas our daughter said the local school district had gone lefty-wacko because folks weren't paying attention and there was finally an effort to wake the folks up to issues other than just national ones. I think most people hear about the insanity and assume it just couldn't be happening where they live, but sadly it probably has.

There's probably a folk tune in that somewhere.

"They have a different story about what "the military" thinks of Hegseth."
I'll bet. Institutional rot and oversupply of administrative generals is an old story with those situations. There's a reason so many generals get fired after a real-deal war starts. The long-hanging fruit, so to speak, of transgender soldiers is hopefully dealt with pretty quickly. Maybe the thing to do is put together some sort of military-adjacent gigs to soften the landing. What I really want to see is the removal of women from combat arms, although the number is not huge. It's probably also a no-brainer for ship duty, but will cause more uproar.
Once the military becomes a jobs program rather than a tribal endeavor for young men, you've got a problem.
Maybe all the fuss is temporary given mechanization.

It's been both for a long time and served pretty well in that dual role. It was when Obama's commissars took root that the struggle sessions started and everything went off the rails.

It's not clear to me if it's just that K. Harris was a crummy candidate, the Trump campaign was better run generally, or if normal folks were just sick of the insane people. It isn't like 'activists' have gone away (just go to a local city council meeting) but it sure seems as if all the commoners had just had enough. Always guilty of what they accuse others of -
In a piece titled "Democrats thumb their nose at the rule of law in Pennsylvania," the WaPo edito"Democrats would surely protest if a Republican commissioner made the same statement [as Ellis-Marseglia] to justify tipping the scales for their party’s Senate nominee — and they would be right," the board said. "Elections need rules, established in advance of the voting, and those rules must be applied equally and consistently."
The op-ed also predicted that the votes "will almost certainly be overturned on appeal, but the mere attempt to defy judicial rulings is corrosive to democracy and invites similar behavior in future elections."rial board wrote that election rules "must be applied equally and consistently."
"Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court, by the way, includes five justices elected in partisan elections as Democrats and just two elected as Republicans," the editorial board noted. "Even if that partisan balance were reversed, however, the court’s authority would be equally legitimate."
The op-ed also flatly states that Casey "almost certainly lost the race," and called for Democrats to accept the loss gracefully, "especially if they want to continue claiming theirs is the party of democracy."
"State law also entitles Mr. Casey to a statewide recount because Mr. McCormick’s margin of victory is smaller than half a percentage point, though not by much," the op-ed said. "A recount is unlikely to change the outcome."

Javier Milei: Elon Musk's work on 𝕏 has saved humanity.
“There is a silent majority, or rather silenced, that has begun to make itself heard despite the enemies of freedom clinging to power by using and abusing propaganda, distortion, and censorship.
That is why I want to particularly thank the great Elon Musk for his enormous work on 𝕏 that has saved humanity.
What happened in Argentina first and in this election in the U.S. is now a clear proof of it.
All over the world, two great opposing positions are forming: those who are ashamed of Western values against those of us who are proud of them. The State Party against the Free Citizens Party. The Regulation Party against the Freedom Party.”

Nothing like an old fool ya po ol ponytail of ignorance clinging to a small county vote when you lost the national trifecta and cali passed prop 36 massively, rejected rent control, rejected the notion that prisoners cannot be made to work as punishment, oakland kicked out its recently elected mayor and soros da, SF fired the mayor for a law and order one, LA kicked its soros da to the curb too as well as a R taking out an incumbent dem in the assembly in a majority latino district a historic first.

"10% lead for Harris makes us solid Blue"
Uh, no - that's not solid blue, but if it helps to keep you from feeling like a complete loser, then you go with it.
Maybe Harris could be the next mayor in NC!

It seems to me that psul can have his fig leaf of dignity, he'll segue into some MSNBC-derived talk about Matt Gaetz soon enough.
In the meantime, I'd suggest he promote some sort of drag queen stripper pole poetry slam for the kids. Sam Brinton hosting. The Fightin' 420th can march up and down (well, at least down) Broad Street with torches waving copies of children's books like 'Santa's Husband' and 'In My Daddy's Belly' while sticking it to The Man. Scammy non-profits will abound, the ants will scurry. Tongues will cluck over iPads and delicious coffee drinks.
The Orange Man is good for what ails ya'. Good times, good times.

I probably need to go on news hiatus until the inauguration.
Here I am reading about how Hegseth's Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre tattoo is a NAZI SYMBOL!!! and reading a New York Times article trying to justify the contents of US-made Froot Loops because they don't like Kennedy.
Next up will be about Tulsi's training as a GRU agent or something.
There's not a thing I can do about all the insane people, but having them whisper in your ear probably isn't good for you. At least we'll probably get a 4-year break from Senate Hearing Room buggering once they change the locks.

More mind worm material.
I ran into this article.
"London professor claims geology — the study of rocks — is racist, linked to ‘white supremacy’"
https://humanevents.com/2024/11/16/london-professor-claims-geology-the-study-of-rocks-is-racist-linked-to-white-supremacy
but, not being interested in an editorial, I went to her page.
https://www.qmul.ac.uk/geog/staff/yusoffk.html
which states:
"Understanding geology and race as modes of historical planetary transformation and social change involves a conceptualization of geologic life and subjectivity. This empirical and theoretical research has sort to show how colonial earth practices, overseen by the discipline of geology, transformed the planet into a global entity organized by practices of extraction and racial subjugation. I locate the histories of race and geology as co-terminus and therefore inextricably linked in questions of justice, world making, subject deforming and future building. Geologic Life shows the processes by which race and racialization emerged geologically and shape a contemporary political terrain of power and environments defined by racial geologies."
which is a sly way for me to slip in this video. (and it ain't like Sabine is a Trump voter)
"Science is in trouble and it worries me."

I was considering age-based cohorts this morning.
Now that a large group of non-fogies made a break for normalcy by electing Trump, what happens to that group of kids damaged by the Democrats?
You've got an entire age group immersed in rather nasty men's fetishes, the evils of Taco Tuesday, crying into cell phones about how Orange Man Bad, having their bits nipped off in some sort of group insanity...what happens to them? They were basically used by the Team Blue elite to build up power, a ready-made street army, but there's some chance history will pass them by.
So what happens to the crazy kids? Do they heal up? Become next-gen street people? Run for city council in some new attempt at rebuilding the world in their image? My guess is that generations on either side will view them with a combination of disdain and pity.

On the day it was announced that msnbc will be spun off into a stand alone entity the reason became clear and not just the history of lies and irrelevance -
Fox News Channel commanded its highest share of the cable news audience in network history last week as CNN and MSNBC continue to hemorrhage viewers since Election Day.
Fox News finished the week of November 11-17 with its highest share of the cable news audience among total day in the network’s 28-year history across multiple categories. As Fox News makes history, MSNBC posted its lowest-rated week in over 25 years in key categories as viewers continued to flee the network on the heels of President-elect Donald Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.
MSNBC settled for fourth with 487,000 total viewers despite the historic news cycle, while CNN managed only 337,000 average total viewers to finish fifth among cable networks
