[Did I miss any of our commenters noting the evil Democrats led by Bumblebrain handing out Social Security cards (numbers) to millions of illegal aliens over the last four years? Most of these were also accompanied by drivers’ licenses and get-Medicare-free cards. All this activity to bolster Democrat voter ranks was made public by DOGE and reported on Fox News. In response the lamestream has broadcast the sound of silence. gjr]
George, I have lost track of the various states that may/may not have given driver's licenses to any inhabitant of earth, or whether that DL qualifies for voting status. And yet the Dems keep accusing conservatives of trying to destroy our country.
Without requiring an ID to vote, on one day only, I doubt if we can specify any system to ensure only citizens can vote, and then only once.

Just to wedge this often quoted paper in, the reasons seem simple enough.
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-12227-0
In a nutshell:
" Studies 1a-1c show that liberals, relative to conservatives, express greater moral concern toward friends relative to family, and the world relative to the nation."
The whole deal runs counter to common sense in terms of cultural or group evolution, but no doubt there are deeper reasons. It seems obvious to me that there's a gender angle to this, females tending towards less group fealty, nationalism, etc. Given that liberal men are more gracile, perhaps they can be viewed as honorary females. In biology, there's the idea of 'sneaking' or female mimicry, which might also explain liberal males.
I admit that pathological altruism seems to be a recently-baked phenomena and deserves a lot more study than it gets. Of course, social 'scientists' tend to suffer from the thing and so can't see it.

BREAKING: Former Marine Congressman Ruben Gallego publicly humiliates MAGA Homeland Security Secretary Krist Noem after she poses with a rifle amidst an ICE raid.
Her little game of fascist dress-up backfired big time…
“1. Close your ejection port,” Gallego wrote on X, referring to a rifle component.
“2. If you have no rounds in the chamber why do you have a magazine inserted?” he continued.
“3. If you have rounds in the chamber or in the magazine why are you flagging the guy next to you?” the senator continued, referring to the fact that Noem was recklessly aiming her gun at a law enforcement officer’s head.
“4. Stop deporting people without due process,” Gallego added.
The brutal takedown from Gallego was in response to a video that Noem posted to X showcasing her tactical outfit in the aforementioned raid.
“Human traffickers. Drug Smugglers. 18thStreet Gang members,” Noem wrote, conveniently eliding the fact that the Trump administration has also been deporting innocent people, including a father from Maryland.
“Spent the morning in Phoenix with our brave @ICEgov and Arizona law enforcement arresting these dirtbags and getting them off our streets,” she added.
Gallego represents Arizona. Noem should have known better than to mess with his constituents. Republican politicians love military aesthetics, but in practice they have no idea what they’re doing or talking about.

Meet your new crackpot Director of the National Counterterrorism Center
Norm picks a winner, while the fat orange man plays the fiddle...
“Joe Kent is a zealot whose blind devotion to an extremist ideology concerns us deeply. For the good of the nation, the Senate should reject his appointment to the critical post of Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. No one who joins a podcast hosted by a Nazi sympathizer, lifts talking points from pro-Russian Telegram channels, and says government-controlled agents were part of the January 6th attacks should be in charge of counterterrorism – period.
“We cannot entrust counterterrorism to someone who believes that Putin had legitimate concerns when he launched his unprovoked attack on Ukraine, who believes that President Zelenskyy was installed by the United States, or called Zelenskyy a ‘thug.’ His attacks on pro-Israel Americans are similarly unacceptable.
“Joe Kent’s appointment is beyond politics; it’s about rejecting someone who, in the run-up to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, repeatedly dismissed glaring evidence of Russian intent that Western intelligence agencies produced, instead driving his own warped worldview. We can’t have someone handling national security and counterterrorism who gives Putin the benefit of the doubt.
“This is a very dangerous appointment, and senators of all political parties should carefully examine Kent’s record, reject him in a bipartisan way, and allow the President to nominate a qualified candidate.”
The case against Joe Kent is open and shut, but here are a few clear examples:
He’s lifted talking points from pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
He said Zelenskyy was “installed” by the United States.
He said Putin had “legitimate” concerns that led him to invade Ukraine.
He said “government controlled agents” were a part of the January 6th attacks.
He paid someone who law endorsement said was a Proud Boy.
He called Putin a “reasonable thug.”

Heck, I'll settle for a list of the miscreants in Nevada County. That would be a good project for Barry Pruett, who never misses an opportunity to criticize Natalie Adona. Of course, he and Amy Young may still be busy uncovering fraud in past local elections.

Trump made no moves to pull them out. Trump promised to pull. us out of Afganistan Scott. Why didn't he do it in the four years he was President? It was just another Trump lie.

Paul 7:00 - You continue to avoid the obvious. We could have had an orderly, well planned withdrawal.
Instead we had a disaster due to incompetence.
It needlessly cost US troop lives (as if you care) and left behind tens of billions of dollars worth of military equipment to the enemy.
It not only cost our govt lives and money, it emboldened our enemies and sent a signal to Putin we were being run by idiots and could very well have tipped the scales in his stupid decision to invade Ukraine.
Further:
"Afghanistan is a complete waste."
- and Ukraine is? What? Not vital to any US interest.
But the Afghans didn't have the dirt on the Biden crime family and couldn't blackmail the president into pouring billions we don't have into a lost cause of a war.

Trump said he had a plan to remove all American troops by XMAS and he never even tried. I've provided Trump quotes stating that. Do you consider that a lie?
Biden inherited the chaos that Trump left behind. Also remember it was a Republican President (Bush) that got us in there to begin with.
Here are the details:
Between October 7, 2001, and August 30, 2021, the United States experienced a total of 2,459 military personnel casualties in Afghanistan, with 1,922 killed in action and 20,769 wounded in action.
There was around a dozen casualties when Biden finally got us out of there.

You have no comment on Trump lying about Afghanistan. That was a campaign issue when he ran for President. Also he promised to pull us out four years earlier and he did nothing. So Biden got us out of Afghanistan, a situation caused by Bush a Republican President. Remember the Republicans caused there to be 2,459 military personnel casualties in Afghanistan, with 1,922 killed and 20,769 wounded in action. Biden had 13 American casualties in pulling us out of Afghanistan because of a suicide bomber. It was a Republican fiasco from the start.

On September 14, 2001, the House passed House Joint Resolution 64 Archived 2008-09-16 at the Wayback Machine. The totals in the House of Representatives were 420 ayes, 1 nay and 10 not voting. The sole nay vote was by Barbara Lee, D-CA. Lee was the only member of either house of Congress to vote against the bill.[14][9] Lee opposed the wording of the AUMF, not the action it represented. She believed that a response was necessary but feared the vagueness of the document was similar to the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. Lee has initiated several attempts to repeal the authorization.[citation needed]

Wow George
Lots of information on your link. What is you're opinion of this?
DOGE makes incorrect claims about immigrants receiving "maximum" Social Security benefits
Gracias also claimed the "defaults" in the Social Security system are set to "max inclusion, max pay for these people."
But experts say there is no "maximum" benefit setting for non-citizen workers. SSA guidance says those who entered the U.S. after Aug. 22, 1996, are not eligible for Supplemental Security Income such as disability payments from taxes they've paid within their first five to seven years in the U.S.
There are cases where immigrants will make up a Social Security number on their employment forms, but this does not benefit the immigrants. It's hardly ever corrected by the employer, and their paid taxes are labeled as "unattributed funds" and added to the Social Security trust fund.
Undocumented immigrants without work authorization play a sizable role in funding the Social Security system. Analysts estimate undocumented immigrants account for an additional $20 billion annually in payments into Social Security that they will never withdraw.
Romig said Musk "got it backwards" by saying "immigrants are somehow a drain on Social Security's finances."
"The more immigrants that we have coming into the United States, the stronger Social Security finances are because they contribute more to the trust funds than they take out," she said.

"The more immigrants that we have coming into the United States, the stronger Social Security finances are because they contribute more to the trust funds than they take out," she said.
The ongoing Ponzi scheme fraud that is Social Security notwithstanding it's good to see you "come out of the closet" and just admit that these people are here so you can steal from them! Also very important that you confine your (not "you're" you senile dimwit. We've covered this....) analysis to money entering the SS system and not the overall drain on the country's finances from all the other programs that illegals can access (school systems, medical/ER services, costs associated with criminal justice system, etc.).
Again no links because you've admitted that you don't read them so I have no idea what you're referring to in your response to George because you don't. Or you might have been lying when you said you didn't read links even though you went on at length about why you didn't read them for some reason. No surprise there -
The Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is pointing the finger at three Democrat-controlled states for the bulk of fraudulent unemployment payments.
The agency recently uncovered $382 million in such payments since 2020 and named California, New York, and Massachusetts as the top states to blame for the problem, Fox News reported on Friday.

RE Gregory 12:14
RR Readers: Gregory is a local Trumper and fake libertarian who has never once on this blog expressed any support for Libertarian candidates or policies. He's a good example as to why Libertarian candidates are such failures in local or national elections. Gregory not one time expressed any support for Chase Olive who was the libertarian candidate for President last year. He prefered to hide under Trumps desk popping up to support him over and over.

Punch, there is/was no Libertarian/libertarian on the 24 ballot by the name of "Chase Olive(sic)". Fuck you, punch.
I've supported and announced I'd vote for a number of Libertarians since beginning to post here a number of years ago, even though RR is more Republican than I'd like... I saw it as a free speech blog, unlike Pellini's.
Over and over? I've voted for Trump ONCE.
Half of California's expenditures are in Education and they pay dues to the hard leftists running the unions. They run the state.

Thanks for the correction Gregory. The essence of my post remains the same. When did you ever advocate for Chase Oliver for President on this blog?

I didn't support Chase for President, hence I didn't write puff pieces for him.
I find it strange your obsession of my lack of support for the fringiest of the fringe candidates under the banner of the Libertarian Party.
Poking around, I found this magic carpet to the past... written by former frisco columnist, Debra Saunders, "Ron Paul: Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out".
My wife Teri and I were standing maybe 10' from Saunders and Ron Paul during her interview. Our son was in utero, sneaking in without paying.

RE PAul Raymo0nd 12:14
RR Readers: Paul Raymond is a local idiot and for some reason decided to refer to himself as a "Green libertarian" who has never once on this blog expressed any interest in describing or identifying the philosophy probably because in his mind "Green Libertarianism" was whatever the democrats were trying to sell on any particular day being from carbon taxes all the way to tax funded transing of minor children! I'm pretty sure the "Green Libertarian" schtick was just a way to bum drinks from gullible Bay Area denizens who happened to up for the day and he's a good example as to why Libertarian candidates are such failures in local or national elections. Paul Raymond not one time expressed any support for Chase Olive except in his cocktail and who wasn't the libertarian candidate for President last year as it was Chase Oliver showing again what a senile knucklehead he really is not knowing the name of the candidate he claims to have endorsed! He preferred (sic) to hide behind poll after poll, all completely wrong about Trumps eventual victory popping up to denigrate him over and over, which is fine if you're (see pinhead....contraction of "you are"! Was that so hard?) entertaining and have something interesting to say instead of being the worlds wrinkliest teenaged girl constantly bleating about the same nonsense over and over again!.

Let's for a moment talk about Chase O., the guy who ran against Trump without Trump noticing.
He apparently never went to college and his "professional" experience started with restaurant work... busboy? Not sure if I put that category as a profession. Many years ago I eagerly sat listening to Russel Means (standing next to me) when he made the rounds of Libertarian groups presenting his campaign for President.
I decided I could not support him for the office because he lacked the intellectual depth while having the gravitas needed. College does matter for the POTUS job.
Oliver waited tables. Punchy strums a gee-tar and tries to sing. Neither are much good to prepare someone to be POTUS or even discuss politics amongst adults.

Gregory
I have gone into a description of Green Libertarian philosophy several times but apparently you have no memory to recall it. In a sentence it means we don't believe the government should have to tell us how to live in harmony with nature and the earth because it should come naturally and not have to be enforced by laws or police. It is simple to understand and know that coal for example is not a sustainable source of clean energy so not depending on it should come naturally to an intelligent and aware person and they should not need a law against it.
I can go on and on which I will when I have more time.

"we don't believe the government should have to tell us how to live in harmony with nature and the earth because it should come naturally and not have to be enforced by laws or police."
Anyone who actually believes that is further gone than I imagined.
Operating a govt based on what "should" come "naturally" is WACK to the nth degree.
Sorry - I'm sticking with the Constitution. There's too many people that act "naturally" that need a rope around their neck.

Trump Envoy Witkoff Says Had ‘Compelling’ Meeting With Putin
"Optics are telling us all we need to know about Team Trump’s ill-advised approach to negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Just as the Russian dictator entered the room to meet with Steve Witkoff for a third time, President Trump’s special envoy was observed placing his right hand over his heart.
It was a pathetic display of endearment to the Russian dictator and indicted war criminal. The Kremlin also interpreted Witkoff’s obsequious display as a green light.
Within 24 hours, the same smug and emboldened Putin would authorize a Palm Sunday ballistic missile attack against the Ukrainian city of Sumy. Two Iskander-variant ballistic missiles packed with cluster munitions struck the city center, killing 34 civilians and injuring 117. Fifteen of Putin’s victims were children. The response from the U.S.? More performative excuses and condolences, but no tangible solutions."

Trump is a truly evil person you supported to be our President.
Trump made his latest remarks about his desire to imprison citizens in international facilities on Thursday on Fox News.
"Could we use it for violent criminals, our own violent criminals?" host Rachel Campos-Duffy asked.
"I call them homegrown criminals," Trump explained. "The ones that grew up, and something went wrong, and they hit people over the head with a baseball bat."
"We are looking into it, and we want to do it," he added. "I would love to do that."
